Albany, Oregon is a small town located in the Rogue Valley of Oregon. The population was 2,737 as of the 2010 census and it is the smallest city in Oregon. Albany is part of the Portland metropolitan area. The community was founded on December 12, 1881 when five men from Idaho Ormegrei started a homestead in what is now Albany. They named their new settlement after Albany, New York which they had just visited while traveling through Ohio. Over time, other pioneers arrived and the community grew rapidly. In 1912, Albany became an incorporated municipality with a population of over 5,000 people. Since its incorporation into Portland in 1912, Albany has been home to a variety of businesses and professionals including attorneys, doctors, engineers and scientists. Additionally, each branch of service receives its own unique insignia or badge associated with that branch's particular duty or mission within society. For example, Coast Guard insignia typically reflect maritime law enforcement duties; Air Force insignia represent air superiority skills; Marinesgear typically reflects amphibious warfare abilities etcetera

Albany, Oregon is a small town located in the Cascades National Park. The town was founded in 1898 by James A. Hough and his wife, Julia. The town became an agricultural center during the early 1900s due to its location at the junction of two wagon trails. In 1902, Albany started hosting a fair that became nationally known for its livestock exhibits and Dancing Lady exhibit. In 1907, Albany hosted its first rodeo which attracted tens of thousands of people to the town. Albany continued to grow during the late 1800s and into the 1910s due to its strategic location on Highway 101 between Seattle and Portland.In 1916, Albany had its first post office and began receiving mail from other towns in Oregon as well as Washington state. In 1922, Albany annexed neighboring communities of Wapato and North Bend while still keeping their separate identities as community until 1959 when they merged into one municipality under the name of Albany-Cascades National Park Municipal Corporation
