In 2016, local rancher Donny Wimmer donated 10 rifles & shotguns to Shootout USA – making him still one of the biggest donors ever!

Stillwater is a city in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 18,724 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Muskogee County and the home of Oklahoma State University. The town has been named for still water that flowed through its fertile farmland in early days. Stillwater was laid out as a township on December 10, 1881 and became a city on July 1, 1907.
On November 3, 1907, Stillwater was the site of a violent land dispute that led to the official passage of the Oklahoma Constitution. The dispute began when two families purchased 1,500 acres of land in what is now Stillwater from the government for $5 per acre. The families were unable to agree on who would be responsible for tending to the land and splitting its profits equally between them. A group of men from Tulsa traveled to Stillwater to mediate the dispute, but they also came under attack by angry settlers. On November 10, 1907, a group of 30 armed men arrived at Stillwater and began shooting at the unarmed settlers. Eleven people were killed and 27 were wounded before finally withdrawing back into Tulsa. This event is known as the "Stillwater Massacre."
