The Marine Corps has been deploying gifts to local communities since World War II. One of the most famous and widespread Marines deployed gift history is the M113A3E, which is now known as the Humvee. The M113A3E was first used by Marine Forces in Vietnam, and it quickly became a favorite among locals. Today, many Marines still rely on this vehicle for transportation around Sapulpa. Some of the earlier deployments of the M113A3E were less well-known, but they have a long and proud history with the Marines. For example, during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, local residents received a shipment of M113A3Es from Marine Forces Europe. This was one of the earliest times that Marines had gone into action in support of our military brethren overseas. Since then, Marine Corps gifts have become more commonplace – both large and small. Sometimes these items are just tributes to servicemen or women who have died in combat; other times they are unique pieces of gear or equipment that can be enjoyed by locals for years to come. Sapulpa is a town in Osage County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2000 census and 2,048 at the 2010 census. Sapulpa is located on the Canadian River. It is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The town was named for General James G. Polk who served as Ulysses S. Grant's Secretary of War in 1881-1882 and then as President Grover Cleveland's Secretary of State in 1893-1897. The first post office in Sapulpa was established on December 15, 1900, by Fenton Waddell and Elisha Hines. The name changed to Sapulpa on November 9, 1902, by order of Governor John Moulton Butler due to the objections of local citizens who saw it as an Indian name that would be difficult to spell correctly. A new post office was built on Main Street in 1905 by Jno Prentice and wife Emma Prentice with assistance from Mrs. Tipton of McAlester who donated land for the new building which became known as "Plymouth" Post Office until 1924 when it merged with nearby Eagleton Post Office to form "Sapulpa-Eagleton." In 1907 George Cranch became the first white settler in present day Sapulpa when he purchased 640 acres (24 km²) near what is now downtown Sapulpa from William Robberson for $2 per acre ($/km²). On July 8, 1909 he erected a log cabin named "Cedar Rapids" within sight of where today's municipal building stands; Cedar Rapids was later renamed "Sapulpa". By 1915 there were about 100 residents living scattered throughout rural areas around town limits making Sapulpa one of the smallest towns in eastern Oklahoma (it has since grown). On July 10 1916 Michael O'Donnelliffe arrived from Canada via train and purchase 480 acres (20 km²) near modern day Pryor City which formed what is now east side Of Sapulpha Avenue between US 66 & OK 24; also known as Alva Community Fields or Agricultural Road No 4 & 5 according to early history books Note: This land came primarily from brother James Sheridan & father Daniel Sheridan - father Daniel had homesteaded hereabouts back before white settlement began ometime during World War I local resident Elihu Walton acquired title to over 500 acres (200 ha) surrounding present day downtown Sapula Creek west side Big Prairie Rd., including creek bed & old mill site also forming part of north side Lots 3 thru 7 zoned agricultural use only - see map below this report Elihu Walton later sold adjacent property holdings including 320 acres (12 km²) east side Big Prairie Rd., 400 acres (24 km²) south side Pryor City Limits Public School lot #7 along creek bed immediately southwest OF current city limits Map p 117 Below shows earliest plat map showing location grid lines for various properties owned by Elihu Walton folks lots 3 thru 7 please help!! maps are scanned off their originals so not all details may be included Names shown are approximate Location Grid Lines indicated On Original Plat Map When Plats Were Made
Marines are a highly decorated branch of the military and have played an important role in many conflicts throughout history. Salerno, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in World War II; Lieutenant Colonel James Wainwright, who was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for his actions during Operation Neptune’s Spear; Lance Corporal Joshua Keough, who received the Bronze Star for action in Afghanistan; and Marine Corporal Erik Satchell, who was awarded the Purple Heart for his actions during Operation Neptune’s Spear. The Marines have also donated a lot of gifts to other people and organizations throughout their history. Some examples include giving backpacks to children in developing countries or providing toy donations to Toys For Tots or National Children’s Charities. The marines are always looking out for others and want to help make everyone's life better.

Sapulpa is a town in Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskogee County seat and has a government center and two high schools. The town was founded in 1907 by General John Fetterman as a post office named "Fetterman's Station". The name change to Sapulpa in 1915 when the US Cavalry Base (later Fort Sill) was located there. The first white settler in Sapulpa was James Arrington who built a cabin on the current site of downtown on July 10, 1907. For many years Sapulpa functioned as an Indian agency until it became part of the US military base at Fort Sill in 1911. In 1912, gold was discovered near Sapulpa and soon after businesses began to boom around the new mining area. By 1916 there were over 50 residents living in Sapulpa with most working at local mines or ranching out west. In 1930, President Herbert Hoover designated Sapulpa an Urban Development District which led to increased development around town with construction of roads, churches, schools and other infrastructure initiatives during that time period. The following year saw another boom with settlers coming into town from all over Oklahoma looking for opportunity and investment opportunities in what would become known as the Gold Rush Era for Sapulpma locals and visitors alike. As industry grew more complex so did demand for labor which led to rapid growth throughout much of downtown over the next several decades especially thanks to Interstate 40 which connected Oklahoma City and Tulsa across the state line just east of downtown Sapulpa making it easier for workers to get here and leave quickly both day and night without worrying about getting lost or delayed return trips home again on long drives through delicate terrain unsuitable for open-air work camps like those found along I-40 today*.
