Sand Springs is a city in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 8,906 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Muskogee County. The town was named for General James C. Sanderson, who had fought in the Mexican-American War and acquired land here in 1868. In 1907, coffee beans were brought to Sand Springs by entrepreneur Wm. Hargrave and miller J.B. Nichols from San Francisco via railcar. The first coffee event in Sand Springs took place on October 12, 1907 when Wm Hargrave and J B Nichols brought coffee beans from San Francisco to the town of Sand Springs for roasting and sale to local farmers

In response, some smaller cafes and restaurants began maintaining their own roasting facilities, using only high-quality Arabica beans that have been handpicked and roasted by their own staff.
