The Owasso Coffee Company was founded in 1906 by Don and Louise Moreno. The company grew quickly, opening several more stores until it had a store on Third Street in Owasso. In 1928, the Moreno family sold the business to Harry H. Smith, who renamed it the Owasso Coffee Corporation. The company continued to grow, opening a store on Fourth Street in 1934 and then a store on Eighth Street in 1938. In 1966, the company merged with Bob's Coffee Company, creating the largest coffee chain in Oklahoma.

The history of Tactical Coffee can be traced back to the early days of coffee drinking. In the 1860s, coffee enthusiasts in Europe began enjoying a locally roasted and ground coffee that was different than what they were used to. They named their new coffee "Tactic" after theTactics of war. soon after, Italian businessmen founded small cafes throughout Europe that would sell Tactical Coffee. The first American store opened in New York City in 1865 and by 1868, there were over a dozen stores across America selling Tactical Coffee. Over time, many variations on the classic café bean-and-cream blend emerged which continue to be popular today. Some include: Dutch Java (a blend made with Sumatra beans), Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Roasted Egyptian Tiryaki, Nicaraguan Oaxaca Pina Colada and Colombian San Vicente de la Renta Toro cigars. Over time, many different flavors have been added to the mix including pumpkin spice Latte Artisano (a blends made with pumpkin puree and spices), peppermint extract Latte Grande (made with peppermint oil) and chocolaty latte artichoke ($2 fee for extra chocolate milk). Owasso, Oklahoma is a small town in the US state of Oklahoma. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is located in northern Haskell County on the Canadian River. The Owasso community was founded in 1907 by John and Eloise Owasso. Like many other small towns during the early years of radio broadcasting, owasso was first an AM station with a two-line service providing entertainment programming to local farmers and their families. In 1951, OWASO became Oklahoma's first FM station with a full-time signal and began transmitting news bulletins from its transmitter atop Mount Rushmore National Monument. In 1978, OWASO became home to the world's second television broadcast tower for Amateur Radio - taller than any other tower then in operation (it still stands). The tower served as both owner/operator of the facility as well as occasional hosting site for international amateur satellite transmissions from various sites around the world. Today, that structure remains an important part of Owasso history and culture; it hosts monthly meetings of the Owasso Amateur Radio Club which provide opportunities for members to fellowship and learn about Amateur Radio while experiencing different types of weather conditions unique to this area During World War II, Owasso played an important role in military ballistics research conducted by Drs Reuben J Whetsell (later Director of Naval Research) and Clarence A Folsom (now retired Professor Emeritus at Wichita State University). Both men came from nearby Ozark Country and were instrumental in developing methods for measuring airfields across vast distances using aerial photos taken by aircraft pilots flown over those fields while they were operational. In 1969,OWASO celebrated its centenary with a celebration parade down Main Street featuring music by Fred Easley and speeches from Mayor Clifford Anderson and Mrs Alice Hebert followed by refreshments at local grocery stores including one run by Mrs Lula Hinton who had been instrumental in initiating community celebrations back when OWASO consisted only of her farmhouse on First Street corner Second Avenue).
On July 20, 1907, Owasso was platted as a town in the Choctaw Nation. The first post office opened in October of that year. On November 5, 1907, the first school was built in Owasso. In 1912, the town had its first gas station and store. In 1930, Owasso had a population of just over 100 people. However, by 1935 it had grown to over 1,500 people and boasted a large cultural center and several businesses. The 1940 census listed Owasso with a population of 2,512 people; however this number decreased by half within six years due to World War II (WWII). In 1948 the U.S. Congress passed the Indian Allotment Act which allocated parcels of land to tribes for their use as housing and economic development; however much of what is now Tulsa was still part of Oklahoma at that time. Owasso reverted back to its original name after changes were made to its government under the Oklahoma Constitution in 1959: it became an unincorporated area once again with no local representation in either the state or national legislatures.
