That same year, Coca Cola Company gifted local residents several cans of Coke products as part of their "Cokes for Patriots" promotion which helped support Operation Desert Storm (1991). civilian employees at Waco Air Force Base were given boxes of chocolates as a way to show appreciation during October 1993's infamous bombing there . In 2003, local resident Donny Youngdon presented US Army Sergeant First Class Darrell Easley with an American Flag Award on behalf of the infantry division he served in during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003). A few months later, another soldier from that division was presented with an American Flag Award by Mayor Noland on behalf of Fort Sill Army National Guard unit stationed in Tulsa . On November 9th 2009, local resident Shane Cook presented US Marine Corps Corporal Bradley Manning with an award recognizing his heroism while serving overseas during Operation Neptune’s Spear (2009). That same day also saw the presentation by Mayor Noland on behalf of Fort Sill Army National Guard unit stationed in Tulsa of Captain John Laddis (ret.) who had been awarded the Medal Of Honor posthumously for his actions while serving at Camp Beale Military Reservation near Raeford , North Carolina (1969)

Owasso and his wife Lillie Maud Owasso. The first post office was established in 1909 in the town, and the first store opened in 1911. In 1923, Owasso incorporated as a city. In 1931, it merged with neighboring Celina to form what is now known as Owasso- Celina-Stephens County combined city government. The merger resulted in the addition of two new wards – east and west – which gave the city an total population of 11,500 residents. On October 1, 2002, during a legislative session that lasted into Friday night, outgoing Mayor David Waddell was impeached for neglecting his official duties while he served as City Manager; four other members of the City Council were also impeached for neglecting their duties as councilors; this effectively ended any possibility of reelection for any member of City Council until after next year's elections when all seats are open from election to appointment only on a partisan basis The long history of Owasso can be traced back to 1907 when John A.
