The Owasso Coffee Company was founded in 1896 by Isaac and Sarah Owasso. The company grew rapidly, and soon had its own shop on Main Street in Owasso. In 1912, the company relocated to a new location on East Arkansas Avenue in Owasso. The Owassos continued to produce high-quality coffee until their death in 1942. In 1975, the Owasso Coffee Company was acquired by the National Coffee Association (NCA). The NCA renamed the company the National Coffee Corporation (NCC). Over time, NCC added other businesses such as grocery stores and catering services. In 1992, NCC merged with Keurig, Inc. to form Keurig, LLC.

The university which now occupies much of downtown Owasso opened its doors on October 15, 1907 as Oral Roberts University (ORU).
