The United States Navy has a Deployed Gift History that dates back to World War II. The Okmulgee Naval Air Station (ONAS) is home to the USS Enterprise (CVN-70) and its detachment of the Naval Auxiliary Air Squadron One Hundred and Fifty-Six (NAVS ONE hundred fifty six). This squadron was activated on July 17, 1943 as part of the first Navy deployment in World War II. NAS ONE hundred fifty six served with distinction during the war, flying many missions over Japan. In 1945, NAS ONE hundred fiftysix joined Task Force 58 which landed at Okinawa following Japan's surrender. The task force's aircraft were used in airstrikes against Japanese targets throughout the island chain. After Japan's surrender, NAS ONE hundred fiftysix reverted to an air station and continued operations untilactivated on September 15, 1951. The Enterprise participated in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm from 1990-1991 as well as Operation Provide Comfort during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It also transported supplies and personnel to Kuwait duringOperation Noble Eagle in 2003. In 2009, it departed ONAS for her final tour of duty serving with NATO forces deployed pursuant to Operation Unified Protector following Cyclone Nargis strike Myanmar. The Enterprise arrived at her new port of call—Queen Maud Land—on December 12th after completing more than 4 thousand miles trip across three continents. Upon her arrival at QML she was decommissioned and placed into storage pending conversion into a museum ship for commemoration of Okmulgee Naval Air Station's role within both World War II and current military deployments worldwide! Okmulgee Naval Air Station played a critical role during both World Wars by providing training for future naval aviators as well as maintaining airfields essential for navy aviation support operations around the world including Korea; Taiwan; Vietnam; Saudi Arabia; Oman; Bahrain; Qatar;Cyprus); Cyprus) As well as providing detachments/sustainment resources/admiralty services afloat or ashore when needed! Today’s okmulgee sailors are descendants of those who served here in both past wars! Many enlisted men now serve their country abroad deployments ensuring our nation’s maritime security! These Sailors have left behind spouses & children who often carry on their traditions within our community - something we can all learn from!

The ship was also deployed in Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf.
Okmulgee is a city in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 5,531 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Okmulgee County. The area that now makes up Okmulgee was first settled by the Cherokee in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The town of Okmulgee was founded in 1881 when traders from Muskogee County arrived to trade with the Cherokee. In 1907, a post office called "Okmulgee" was established and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1909. Oklahoma State Highway 9 reached Okmulgee from Tulsa on July 24, 1919. On November 20 of that year, Oklahoma Statute No. 193 created a township within present-day Okmulgee Township for everyone living within 25 miles of OU campus and named it after Drury Loyd Stephens (1853-1936), an OU professor who donated land for the school and also served as its first president. Stephens Boulevard still runs parallel to his donation towards what would become OU's main campus today. In 1930, Tulsa Mayor Oden Higginbotham proposed building a new airport outside of Tulsa City Limits due to air pollution caused by oil refineries located east of Tulsa at that time. The idea gained momentum among local residents and eventually led to passage of Statute No 4355 which allocated $2 million dollars toward building an airport near present-day downtown Tulsa with funds earmarked specifically for this purpose ; this project became known as Ozark Airlines Airport (now Tulsa International Airport). Construction began on Ozark Airlines Airport on October 7, 1931 and it opened its doors to passengers on November 3, 1933 . That same year saw the opening of the first shopping center built in OKMULGEE – CVS Pharmacy – which would later be renamed Sam’s Club earlier this decade . At its peak during World War II , Ozark Airlines had over 100 employees working at three different stations across OKLAHOMA . After WWII ended however, Ozark Airlines ceased operations due various economic problems including fire hazard losses; however key personnel such as President Lloyd Stephens kept their jobs and continue working at Sam’s Club until his death in 1976 In 1957, construction began on Memorial Stadium which would serve as home field for both Oklahoma State University Sooners football team & Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team until 1979 when they moved into Don Nelson Stadium ; following their move to Norman they were joined bythe University of Central Arkansas Bears football team who played their home games at Memorial Stadium until 1998 before moving back to their original stadium location . By 2007 there were only 14 employees remaining employed full time at both stadiums! As recently as 2009 there were just six employees working either part-time or temporarily out of two locations! Finally since 2000 total employee count has decreased below 10%!! One reason behind these changes may be decreases in enrollment & development opportunities because oklahoman citizens are increasingly preferring online/telemarketing services over physical visits !! Despite all these negative trends & reductions though we remain committed to our city & hope our story will inspire others interested in learning more about us

The United States again donated a warship to the British Admiralty in 1919 as part of the Anglo-Soviet Treaty of Trianon. In 1945, during World War II, the USS Enterprise was placed at Osaka Naval Base in Japan in order to provide support for Allied troops fighting Axis forces on land. From 1951 until 1962, gifts were given to South Korea as part of Operation Summertime (later known as Panmunjom). In 1966 and 1967, gifts were sent to Vietnam as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s “Peace Corps” program. In 1979 and 1980, presents were sent to Iran and Cuba following anger over their respective nuclear programs. Finally, in 1991 shortly after 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington D.C., a gift from Japan was delivered to Miami Beach Harbor House in honor of then Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (D) following his visit there that month. Since its founding by Commodore James Cook in 1775, the United States Navy has been one of America’s most important military forces. Today’s force is composed primarilyof warships operated by both navy branches: The U.S. Navy is homeported at Naval Station Norfolk while The UESP(Marine Forces Europe) are based at Marine Barracks Islip on Long Island; both services operate numerous shore installations worldwide including lighthouses, submarines and amphibious landing craft ashore as well as airfields within range of enemy bombers or missiles targets ashore or afloat." This tradition began with Commodore Cook's donation - seventeen years before America entered World War I -of HMS Resolution which would become USS Constitution..Following World War I Admiral Dewey awarded two more ships "to be dedicated"to navies all over the world through various treaties...In 1933 Congress passed act entitled "Gift Ship Act" designedely providing naval vessels (pilots only) for noncombatant purposes such as education or relief...In 1936 USS Indianapolis became first ship ever commissioned into USN under this act when commanded by Rear Admiral James Wickersham...In 1941 USS Drake became first ship ever sunk by USN during WWII when she attacked ASW convoy off Hawaii...USS San Francisco became second such ship lost with her crew KIA while rescuing survivors from destroyer Santa Fe off Okinawa during WWII....USS Lexington became third ship lost with her crew KIA while defending Leyte Gulf against Japanese attack...USS Wrightstown became fourth ship lost with her crew KIA while escorting Convoy PQ-5A athwart Philippine Sea during WWII......Today we have 535 ships belonging tot he USN including 7 Nimitz class warships along w/o Pilots! The area now known as Okmulgee was part of the Shawnee Nation until 1817. The first white settlers in what is now Okmulgee County were likely Native Americans, who began to arrive in large numbers after the U.S. government permitted Indian Removal from Mexico in 1821. With the opening of the U.S.-Mexico border and the accompanying increase in trade and travel, more people started arriving in this region, which would eventually lead to a population of over 100,000 people by 1860. The growth of this community was due to its location on the Arkansas River, which allowed for easy transportation and trade with surrounding states. The town developed around several square miles of land that included a school, hospital, Methodist church, storehouse and warehouse. Several businesses operated along Highway 75B between Tulsa and Muskogee until it was improved into present-day Interstate 25
