The United States Air Force Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma has a rich history of airforce gift history. The Oklahoma Air National Guard has been providing services to the community in Muskogee since 1931. The unit was activated as a flying school on September 18th, 1931 and first flew combat missions in World War II. After the war, the air national guard returned to providing services to the community through various organizations such as law enforcement, homeland security, military support and more. In 1993, our unit was redesignated as the 6th Bomb Wing and continues provide unique capabilities for our community today.
Muskogee, Oklahoma is a small town in southeastern Oklahoma. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of Muskogee County and the largest city in Muskogee County is McAlester. The land that would make up Muskogee was first settled by the Shawnee people in the 17th century. When white traders began arriving in the 18th century, they also discovered what would later become Muskogee Lake. The area that now makes up Muskogee was first populated by Creek Indians and their allies who fought against British settlers in what is known as the Battle of Cimarron Hill. In 1819, General Andrew Jackson ordered Colonel James McIntosh to take control of Indian Territory and open it for white settlement. McIntosh's force arrived at Muskogee on November 15, 1819 and founded Fort Worth on what would later be called Main Street. In 1861, following Texas annexation into the United States, Oklahoma became a state and Asa Kelley became its first governor. By 1865, most of present-day Muskogee had been developed as farmland due to increased trade with Mexico City and other parts of Texas. By 1870, only about a third of the population lived in town while most residents worked on farms or farmed out their land to others for cultivation purposes. However, with rapid growth rate during World War II due to military service (mainly within Tulsa), many businesses were established within town limits including First National Bank (founded 1915), Eastern Star Furniture Company (founded 1916), A&W Root Beer Bottling Company (founded 1919), Wichita Machine & Tool Works (founded 1921), Rubbermaid USA Corporation (formed 1924) and Bobcat Tire Co.(formed 1930). When OKC joined forces with Kansas City to form new Osage County in 1907 after Oklahoma Senator John Altman drafted legislation creating it; some residents decided to move from nearby towns such as Jenkinville because they felt that KC was becoming too large for them alone In 1912 citizens petitioned Governor Altman to create an appointed board “to regulate traffic” through muskegee River but no action was taken until 1913 when Attorney General James Guthrie recommended creation of a board charged with “the prevention injury or damage done thereto by any person unknown or upon whom no notice has been given” This recommendation led to establishment of the Bureau of Roads which served as an early predecessor to today's Department of Transportation In 1927 fire destroyed much property within downtown business district but did not damage any homes which likely saved many lives since few buildings were built without insurance By 1941 there were over 2200 residents living within city limits while less than 100 people lived outside it due largely to high rates for gasoline and water which restricted travel outside town limits
The US Air Force Gift History is a long and complicated history. It started with the creation of the USAF in 1947. The USAF was created as a result of the American-Soviet War which ended with World War II. The USAF was made up of military forces from both countries and it was their mission to work together to fight against Axis powers. After World War II, the USAF grew immensely and by 1949, it had become one of the most powerful militaries on Earth. As such, it became necessary for them to purchase gifts for their members. One of the first gifts that the USAF purchased was an airplane. This plane would be used primarily for transport between airfields and other locations within America. After this purchase, the USAF began gifting planes frequently and they soon became known as “The Flying Armada”. One of the best examples of how popular airplanes were at that time is when George Washington flew in his new Boeing 747 airliner nicknamed “The Gilded Cage” during his Farewell Address in 1961. This event helped show how popular airplanes were among members of the USAF and also demonstrated just how important flown transportation was at that time. In fact, since 1948, every President who has held office has traveled in an airplane at least once! Over time, however, gift giving stopped being a main focus for the USAF after they began receiving more donations from other organizations such as foundations and private individuals. Instead, AFB staff became increasingly involved in making donations to different organizations all over America through various charity auctions throughout year-round. These auctions allowed AFB staff to give back some of what they had received from individual donors while also showing off their unique gift style which often included unique items like paintings or sculpture pieces donated by member families or friends (known as “Air Force Museumartifacts”).

A Brief History of Muskogee, Oklahoma In 1881, the United States Government purchased 640 acres of land in present-day Muskogee County, Oklahoma for $5,000. The land was donated by the Creek Nation and used as a military reservation. It wasn’t until 1907 that the US Postal Service began delivering mail to Muskogee from Tulsa. In 1907, the post office was moved to its current location on Third Street. The first store in town opened in 1909. By 1912, there were ten businesses in town. In 1915, the city of Muskogee was established and it quickly became one of the most important economic engines in the county. During World War I (1914-18),Muskogee served as a training ground for American soldiers stationed in Europe. After the war ended, many businesses closed but new ones sprang up thanks to baseball and education initiatives by Mayor John Hodge Sr. Over time, downtown Muskogee grew into an important commercial center with several theaters and nightlife options available to residents
The Muskogee area was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. The area became part of the United States in 1907. The town of Muskogee was founded in 1868, and continued to grow until it reached its current size in 1925.
