Small batch coffee has been brewing in Miami, Oklahoma since the early 1900s. In 1903, a small family business started producing espresso drinks from beans that were roasted on their own farm. The coffee continued to be produced here until the late 1940s when it was moved to Wichita, Kansas. From there, it was shipped all over the United States and Europe before finally being brought back to Miami in the mid-1970s. Today,small batch coffee continues to be produced by local farmers and entrepreneurs in Miami and surrounding counties. By growing small-batch coffee within our community, we are helping support each other as well as promote sustainability and innovation while ensuring that quality product is maintained at every step of production.

In Miami, Oklahoma, small batch coffee was first started in the early 1970s when a group of friends pooled their resources to purchase a small roaster. The founders of this business were Bob and Tammy Hesse. They named their business Smallbatch Coffee because they wanted to create something unique and special. Over the years, more and more people joined theSmallbatch Coffee family and we continue to serve up quality coffee each and every day!

Miami is a city in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The population was 6,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Muskogee County and straddles both banks of the Muskingum River. Miami is located in central-northwest Oklahoma, bordered by Tulsa to the south, McAlester to the east, and Graham to the north. The Muskogee Nation had their traditional hunting grounds in what is now Miami until they were forced off their land by settlers in 1867. The first European sighting of Miami was made on July 5th, 1795 when USS "Hudson" sighted a small island about due west of present-day Miami on her way from St. Augustine, Florida to Fort Gibson (now Tulsa). Spanish explorer Captain Juan Ponce de Leon stopped at what is now known as Northwest Key Biscayne on his return from an expedition exploring Florida's Gulf Coast in 1513; he named it Isla de la Esperanza after his sister Esperanza who died during childbirth thereabouts. A number of early settlements were founded along the river around this time including future Miami Beach and Ashtown which are today part of Tulsa metropolitan area

Miami is a town in the far northeast corner of Oklahoma, on the Missouri River. It was founded by white settlers in 1881, and named for Miami, Florida. The first post office was established in Miami in 1887. The population of Miami at the time was only 10 people. The town began to grow rapidly after it was designated as the temporary seat of government for Choctaw County during the 1907 Census. In 1916, Miami became an official city with a vote by its citizens. In 1925, the Third Oklahoma State Legislature passed a bill establishing Tulsa as the capital of Oklahoma and making Miami an option for choosing that state's new capital. However, due to financial problems caused by World War I-era depression, Miami declined to become Tulsa's new capital and instead chose to remain an unincorporated community within Choctaw County. In 1932, when Tulsa finally became its own state capital following World War II, Miami again became an option for choosing Oklahoma's new capital; however this time it chosen Guthrie instead due to its proximity to Tulsa and historical ties to that city.

Miami was founded in 1847 by Captain John C. Harker, who named it after the town of Miami, Florida. The city was first called Fort Harker and then Fort Myers before becoming Miami proper in 1851. In 1907, the city annexed part of Tulsa, Oklahoma making it its second largest city.
