The coffee industry in Jenks, Oklahoma began in the early 1920s when a group of farmers brought caffeine beans to the area from Mexico. The first coffee shop was opened in 1922 and it was called the Spanish Coffee House. In 1934, Jenks had its first grocery store and coffee began to be sold there too. In 1951, the first local roastery was opened and it became known as The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Roastery. Over time, other small businesses were added to the mix including bakeries, florists, etc. In 1984, Jenks’ first convenience store was opened and it became known as The Coffee Shop on Main Street. Today, there are over 20 businesses that offer coffee services in Jenks!

Jenks, Oklahoma is a small town in the US state of Oklahoma. The population was 1,658 at the 2010 census. Jenks is located on the Arkansas River, about 15 miles (24 km) south of Muskogee and 50 miles (80 km) north of Tulsa. The area that became Jenks was settled by German-Americans in the late 1800s. The first post office in Jenks was established on July 3, 1907. In 1911, a school was built and named after Mrs. Jane Aiken who raised money to build it. The present day Jenks Elementary School opened in 1928 and is one of the largest schools in Jenks. It has been called "the heart of Jenks." Jenkins County was established in 1907 as part of Indian Territory when most of what is now Oklahoma were acquired from Texas by President Theodore Roosevelt as part of his Kansas–Oklahoma Purchase program. The county seat was at Atoka until 1912 when it moved to Poteet because that location offered more access to water resources than any other location within Indian Territory at that time. In 1915, following an act passed by Congress which provided for the organization and governance of new states within Oklahoma after its admission into the Union, Jenkins County became Muskogee County; however, Jenkins County still retains some vestiges from its former identity including name changes and elections throughout its history

In fact, when Julius Caesar died in 44 BC, his funeral procession stopped at the foot of the Palatine Hill where he had originally found roasted beans while on march through Rome.

Jenks was founded by parents, John and Hannah Jenks, in 1887. The town was named for General George Armstrong Custer, who died in battle in1876. The Jenks family farmed and hunted in the area until the early 1900s when oil exploration began to take hold. In 1907, the Jenks family bought a tract of land two miles east of their current home and started production of oil shale. The industry soon grew too large for the small town to support and Jenks became a ghost town. In the late 1800s, Jenks had a school and store with just 10 students. By 1925, it had evolved into an all-day public school that served grades 1-12. In 1954, Jenks became part of Sequoyah County when it was created from parts of Tulsa County and Muskogee County. In 1978, Sequoyah County merged with Oklahoma City to form Oklahoma Statehood Day Park District #1 which continues to operate today as one of the largest county park districts in Oklahoma! Today, Jenks is known for its annual Oktoberfest parade which takes place on October 12th annually. It is also home to the biggest pumpkin festival in Oklahoma (which happens every September).
The Jenks community of farmers and ranchers first inhabited the area in 1871. The town was named for Jens Jensen, a Norwegian immigrant who settled in the area in 1868. In 1907, the Jenks post office was established and remained in operation until 1959. In 1951, Jenks incorporated as a city. The population ofJenks peaked at over 10,000 in 1960 but has declined since then.
