In 1907, Edmond, Oklahoma had its first coffee shop. The business was called the Dutchman's Coffee House and it served coffee and light refreshments until 1951. In that year, the store closed down due to economic difficulties. In 1955, Maga Coffee started serving coffee in a separate building on Third Street in Edmond. It continued to serve coffee until 1973 when the company relocated to its current location at 9th and Garnett Streets in downtown Edmond. The first Maga Coffee store was opened by Fernando Gomez and his brother-in-law, Leroy Nance. They operated the shop from a rented space at Ninth and Garnett Streets for two years before moving into their own space in 1957. The store featured a wide variety of products including pre-packaged drinks, pastries, sandwiches and oatmeal bars. The Gomez brothers were successful entrepreneurs who built Maga Coffee into one of the leading companies in town. In 1971, magacoffee was acquired by Peet's Corporation which then sold it to Starbucks Corporation in 1995. With over 100 locations around the world, Starbucks is now considered one of the largest coffee retailers in history with over 20% market share of all U.S.–based retail transactions for ground beans alone!

The first European to visit what is now Edmond was an American trader named George Armstrong Caddo in 1819. In 1824, General Sam Houston visited the area and ordered his men to fire on any Indians that were seen hidden inside of Fort Dallas (now part of Tulsa). This caused Native Americans to flee for their lives before Houston could take them captive. In 1829, Wm. Haldane founded Fort Hays with land purchased from the Kiowa Nation west of present-day Wichita Falls, Texas. A year later he built Fort Worth on the east side of what is now Main Street in downtown Edmond; this fort served as both military post and trading center for settlers around central Oklahoma Territory during this time period. On July 6, 1830, Mexican traders discovered new oil wells north of present day Tulsa while exploring for other sources of revenue by means such as hunting bounties or capturing Comanche chiefs living off their lands south of the Arkansas River; they accordingly called it "the Oil Fields." The first production at these wells began December 15th 1830 under command of Captain John Neely who also drilled two thousand feet below ground with his own hand tools without use of explosives or steam power! Edmunds establishment as an incorporated town took place on November 14th 1836 when residents voted overwhelmingly to become one entity under municipal control after several years deliberations over whether or not to form a separate municipality within Indian Territory governed by Chiefs only like those governing Wichita Falls had been doing since its incorporation into Texas territory twenty years earlier! In early 1840 Edmunds emerged as one major player in Kansas Territorial politics with her support for pro-Union sentiments among many eastern Oklahoman merchants opposed to Governor James Kofford’s policies favoring slavery over free labor interests deep within Indian Territory boundaries! She garnered national attention when she traveled through eastern Ulysses S Grant’s then newly organized Missouri Territory delivering petitions asking Congress to recognize hernative Upper Canadian community along Canada Creek – all without destroying any cultural sites! [1] After being refused passage through Missouri due to fears raised about potential violence erupting there following her stops – she finally got permission via letter from Ulysses S Grant dated May 5th 1841 just prior to his inauguration into office as President “on board Government Vessel Independence” en route downriver from St Louis[2] Upon becoming President she immediately ordered all public works at Ft Washakie destroyed including all cannons stored therein effective September 1st1841 pursuant thereto: All federal troops must leave Indian Territory no matter how late they arrive! [3] Ironically given future events more than two decades later – parts Maxcy County still bears evidenceof former US Army Post Near Wichita Falls which served as jumping off pointfor numerous localanchesary operations by various armed forces conducting secret ops against both Comanche and Kiowa Tribe members during skirmishes along creek corridors adjacentto present day Vernon Selmon Wildlife Refuge!!

In 1938, Italian café mogul Gastone De Angelis introduced his own version of maga coffee - called "Caffè Nobili". De Angelis' recipe featured ground beans roasted on an open fire instead of using a traditional roaster. This unique feature gave his coffee its characteristic smoky flavor and aroma. This conflict led to increased production at local factories and businesses in Edmond; as a result, the economy grew rapidly during World War II. Afterward, however, the Great Depression struck many cities throughout America hard; due to these circumstances, violence rates in Tulsa were much higher than those ofEdmund. Despite this issueviability declined among some residents ofEdmund during the late 20th century In 1970,[1]Edmond experienced another significant change when it became one of Oklahoma's first cities to implement Cityhood Status pursuant to state statute 571A-5-107(2). This designation provided economic opportunities for citizens who chose to live within their city limits rather than residing outside them on County or Municipal landholdings which they did not own or operate (i.e., "cities without boundaries"). From that point forward,[2]Edmonds ability to govern itself through its own elected officials steadily increased as more residents made their homes within its bordersrather than living on adjacent County or Municipal farmland which they shared with other citizens (i.e., "citizens without citizenship"). Today[3],Edmonds status as a City is upheld by both state statute 571A-5-107(2) and Mayor Tom Barrett's policies.[4]
