Del City is a small town in Oklahoma. It's located about 20 miles northeast of Tulsa, on the east bank of the Arkansas River. The population was 3,711 at the 2010 census. The town was first settled in 1881 by farmers from Missouri and Illinois. In 1907, Del City became the county seat of Marshall County. In 1924, it merged with Benton County to form Del Norte County. The township of Del City was organized in 1889. The first post office opened in 1890; it was called "Hagar". The name change came about because one man suggested that the name be shortened to "Del." The town had its first fire department in 1893. In 1933, Del City became an independent city when it seceded from Benton County and formed its own government. It has since reverted to being a town within Tulsa County. The economy of Del City is based largely on agriculture and ranching: cattle, sheep, pigs, beans, wheat and corn are some of the crops grown there. There are also several businesses associated with this industry: a hotel/motel complex (the only one within 100 miles), two banks (one national and one international), two grocery stores (one general store and one cooperative), a movie theater (the only one within 100 miles), two restaurants (one Italianate and one Americanized) and three churches (two Baptist and one Methodist).

The Guards have served in many campaigns throughout the years, including World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. Today, there are over 120,000 active duty National Guard troops across the United States. National Guardsmen have played an important role in every American Revolution since they were created as part of militias to support their local militaries. In 1792, Massachusetts Governor John Adams ordered 1,500 men from his state’s militia to help defend Boston from British forces under General George Washington. In 1861, New York governor Andrew Johnson called for 100,000 soldiers to be raised for Confederate defense against Union forces under Abraham Lincoln. During World War II, Guardsman served in every theater of war including Normandy through Italy and Germany; Okinawa; Pearl Harbor; and Guam. During the Vietnam War, Guardsmen fought on several fronts including Saigon and Pleiku; provided security at homeport cities such as Miami Beach and Key West;and supported Operation Rolling Thunder—the aerial bombardment of North Vietnam—until 1971. After more than 50 years of service members having been killed or wounded in action while serving our country abroad or within our borders—nearly two-thirds of all military fatalities occur during peacetime operations—the National Guard leaders decided that it was time for a retirement program similar to those used by other branches of our Armed Forces. In 1974 Congress enacted legislation calling for a permanent corps of retired Guardsmen with full benefits and pensions providing recognition “for 47 generations who have dedicated themselves fully to Our Great Nation’s defense” (1). By 1980 nearly all states had ratified this legislation making it effective nationwide (2). Since then aging retirees have enjoyed various degrees OF Benefits such as Survivor’s Pension(3), Disability Pension(4), Life Insurance(5) & Annuity Plan(6). Some companies offer life insurance policies specifically tailored to Guardsmen (7). The history of gifts given by members of the National Guard is reflective both positive and negative examples abound throughout American History! On one side are individuals who gift items necessary or attractive for unit use or display such as flags/handguns/ammunition etc., often taking great pride in doing so – often showing appreciation for their servicemen/women! On the other hand are individuals who might randomly gift items without any regards to what may be needed or desired by their member-in-arms! These individual's actions can go unnoticed but can eventually damage relationships between unit members or worse - lead to physical altercations!! Del City, Oklahoma is a small town in the US state of Oklahoma. The population was 2,883 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskogee County, Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1907, Del City was founded by white men from Illinois as a trading post on the Red River. The first postmaster and clerk were Mr. and Mrs. John Witherspoon. They also operated a flour mill and a gristmill in Del City until 1914 when they moved to Tulsa because of the high prices for land in that city at that time. In 1919, Del City became an official seat of government when it was chosen as the new county seat due to its growing population size and location on the Arkansas River near Haskell Indian Nation land east of Muskogee County line. The name “Del City” originated with early settlers who thought it would be more confusing if all towns had similar names (e.g., Wichita Falls), so they decided to keep their original town name but change their incorporated date from November 10th 1918 to September 21st 1919 – ensuring that everyone knew which year it happened! There have been many changes to Del City since its founding: The first store in town opened in 1907: J C Moore & Son Store The first school opened in 1915: Griggs School First doctor was Dr Ransom Whitehead who served from 1916-1917 In 1922, there were just 5 residents living in Del City when Oklahoman Roy Stroud donated his large piece of land adjacent to present day First Baptist Church for development into what is now known as "Stroud's Row". Development continued until 1928 when all remaining residents left for unknown reasons; however, some evidence suggests that they may have been forced out by developers after protests over plans for streetcars running through their community center (now First Baptist). This area remains largely undeveloped today with only one home still standing on Straughts Row (approximately 4 acres). In 1927-28 OKLAHOMAN GILBERT HICKS donated $10 000 towards construction of what is now Tulsa State Fairgrounds - making this one of largest philanthropic donations ever made within our state borders! humbly accepted!
