The Chickasha Coffee Company was founded in 1906 by Major John C. Mahoney and Mr. H.H. Starbuck, two of the early pioneers in the Oklahoma coffee industry. The Chickasha Coffee Company was a small family-owned business that operated out of a few storefronts on the downtown square for more than forty years. The company exported its coffee to other states in the Midwest and beyond and generated significant profits through marketing its beans to local merchants and customers alike. In 1992, the Chickasha Coffee Company merged with another local business, The Roasters at Temple Fairgrounds, creating one of Tulsa's most successful coffee companies ever. Today, The Roasters at Temple Fairgrounds continues to operate as a separate entity but collaborates closely with the Chickasha Coffee Company on marketing and product development initiatives; this partnership has helped make their cup of joe even better!

Chickasha, Oklahoma is a small town located in the northwestern corner of the state of Oklahoma. The population was 1,150 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Chickasha County seat. The Chickasha community began forming in the late 1800s when white settlers and their black slaves moved to what is now Chickasha from other parts of Oklahoma. The first post office in Chickasha was established on September 25, 1892. In 1907, a school was built and named for Mrs. Lillie Crain Johnston, an early settler who donated land to build it. The Chickasha-Lincoln School District served students in grades K-12 until 1974 when it became part of the McAlester Unified School District. Assembling all of McAlester's schools into one district made sense financially because then each school could charge more for its services due to the fact that they were all within walking distance of one another. In 2006, efforts to change how local elections are conducted gathered enough signatures to put Measure O (A Better Future) on the November ballot which would have created a new city charter with more powers for cities and towns within their borders than currently exists statewide. However, before it could be placed on ballots, various groups opposed it claiming that it would create too much power for small towns and rural areas while larger cities would get too much money without having anything to do with it - essentially killing off any chance at passage even though over 60% of residents living inside city limits voted against Measure O .
