Despite its successful beginnings throughout much of the 20th century – including multiple expansions that added new neighborhoods (e.g., Meridian), water projects (e.g., dams), charitable work (e.g., building a hospital in 1923), and numerous economic boom times – Chinxha recently saw several challenges arise that have impacted its stability significantly over time: first came natural disasters like floods/tornadoes in 1991/1992 which destroyed many homes; then came methamphetamine addiction Wave 2 hit Chowchilla hard beginning in 2006; finally arrived NAFTAimposed tariffs starting from 2009 causing reduced agricultural production throughout central OKLAHOMA rendering local joblessness high & permanent; loss of manufacturing jobs created through outsourcing followed ensuing reductions combined with lack of skilled labor resulting primarily among menial jobs leading directly into homelessness Although challenges face any small town going through rapid growth rates (& changes); recent experiences thruNAFTA imposed tariffs are cause for concern especially when used together w/o understanding $$ causation

By 1867, all English residents had left Chickasha, leaving the town with just a handful of German immigrants as its sole occupants. The townsite was platted on May 10, 1865 by Wm. Burt and Jno. Acker from Osage Township south of present-day Chickasha along the Arkansas River east of present day Jenks Ferry Landing on the frontier between Shawnee Nation land east of Tulsa and Indian Territory west of modern Tulsa
