The Chickasha Coast Guard Station was founded in 1924. The station served as a barracks for the Coast Guard until 1941 when it became an actual coast guard station. In 1951, the station became an annex to the Chickasha Municipal Airport which continues to serve today. The Coast Guard Station is currently used as a transient lodging facility for law enforcement and civilians on a case by case basis.

Chickasha is a town in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Chickasha is part of the Tulsa Metropolitan Area. It is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and within walking distance of both downtown Tulsa and Osage Hills. Chickasha was founded by settlers in 1881 as a station on the Santa Fe Railway. The community developed around two churches and a school. In 1901, Chickasha incorporated as a town under the name of Jenks. The first mayor was A.W. Bagby and the first postmaster was Wm Henson Crouch Jr.. In 1907, Chickasha became an independent city after being bypassed for incorporation by Jenks because its citizens desired more autonomy than that granted to Jenks by law. Chickasha experienced significant growth during World War II when it became home to several military installations including Camp Butler which housed black soldiers from all over America; Turner Air Force Base which housed fighter planes used against Japan; and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant which processed munitions for American forces in Europe). Additionally, many businesses were created in order to support these activities such as local grocery store proprietors who opened stores on military bases throughout the war; traders who sold goods manufactured or grown outside of US borders; contractors who built infrastructure such as airfields and water supplies for troops fighting in European theaters of conflict; truck drivers mobilized to deliver shipments of food and materiel to allied forces overseas In 1948, Chickasha annexed neighboring towns of Jenks (which had been founded less than one year earlier) and Nellis (a farming community established between 1916-1920). These annexations increased the size of Chickasha by over 100%. The annexation also added jobs due to increased traffic caused by these two communities' proximity to each other as well as their dependency on rail transportation for goods moving between them
