Bixby is a small town in Oklahoma, located on the Arkansas River. The population was 1,957 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The coffee industry has been around in Bixby for over seventy years and it is still one of the most important economic engines in the town. Coffee beans are ground into coffee powder and sold by weight or bag. Bixby's first grocery store opened in 1922 and was known as "The Grog Shop". Today, there are three grocery stores in Bixby - two convenience stores and one full-service restaurant. The three main businesses that make up the Grog Shop today are All-American Grocery (owned by Kroger), Community Coffee Works (owned by Peet's Coffee & Tea), and Dutch Bros. Coffee (owned by Jardine Big Business). Coffee has always been an important part of both local community life and culture hereabouts. In fact, before becoming a municipality, Bixby was named after John Aird, who settled here about 1875. At various points during its history, Bixby has had a post office - first called Independence; later spelled Will Rogers; then renamed Post Office Park; finally changed back to Independence again in 1951! In 1926, when all of Tulsa’s telephone lines were completed from downtown to east Tulsa via First Avenue – which cut through what is now parts of Midtown – Mr./Mrs./Dr., Wm./Minnie Aldrich started picking up local phone calls at their home on Second Street between Griggs Road and East Washington Boulevard just south of US 68! This service continued until 1949 when they moved to 5th Street between Steele Road/Oklahoma State Highway 476 north of I-40W near US 66! They remain our longest continuously serving customers today! On July 9th 1919 pioneer Ole Sorenson set out from his farmstead on South Main Street cornering present day Broadway near Ada High School with his wagon loaded with bagsful of black beans he had dried himself over a period of several weeks while tending to some cows he’d acquired along route! Soon other farmers followed suit setting out for placer gold near Jenks or searching for new land westward along what would become State Highway 169 where they found rich veins both mineralized (lead) and non-mineralized but very good quality coal seams richly endowed with alumina!!! Today these days many people travel this old highway corridor each year on family gatherings looking for sites similar to those enjoyed more than 100 years ago when these pioneers did their pioneering!! One could go on indefinitely about all that does happen within easy walking distance or drive away including events like Oktoberfest next door celebrating German heritage (& beer)!

When Bixby was founded in 1907, it was the largest town in Oklahoma. The city is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and its early residents were farmers and small-scale traders. In 1916, Bixby became the capital of Oklahoma Territory and its first mayor, John W. Postell, served until his death in 1922. In 1934, Bixby became a city and its first mayor, J. Leland Smith, served for thirteen years before he was replaced by A. H. Caldwell. In 1950, the city annexed the neighboring town of Rossville and in 1966 it amalgamated with McAlester to form Bixby-McAlester City School District #1. The city limits have been expanding ever since; currently they encompass all of east side of Russell Avenue from north to south while including most of west side from east to west
Bixby, Oklahoma is a small town in the southern US state of Oklahoma. It is located in Haskell County and has a population of about 140 people as of the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1907 by George Bixby and his family. The name "Bixby" originated from early Spanish settlers who named their small community after San Francisco Bay, California's Bixbys Beach. In 1907, George Bixby and his family moved to what is now Bixby from their original home near Stillwater. After many years of hard work, they opened a general store and school on Main Street in 1909. The store continued to be operated until 1951 when it was closed due to lack of business competition. In 1948, the first television station in Haskell County was licensed to Bixby and started broadcasting on channel 6A. TV service continued until 1971 when channels 5/7 were added to the local cable system making it difficult for residents to receive programming outside of town limits. Today, only one remaining channel 6A remains operational with educational programming being provided by K-12 schools within town limits through digital transmission methods using nearby Tulsa (the original transmitter site). Today, much like its predecessor days which are full of history and culture that can be experienced firsthand while living close by, Bixby features an event atmosphere that allows visitors easy access to all that this unique small town has to offer including festivals such as Oktoberfest or Harvest Festivals as well as golf tournaments at local courses or even Apollo Classic Polo Club which offers an opportunity for visitors who want something different each year not just another annual golf tournament!
There is no one definitive history of high-quality coffee. However, there are some key points that reflect the popularity and quality of coffee over time: 1) Coffee beans were first roasted in Sumatra, Indonesia, in the early 1800s. This region was known for its hot, humid climate and its production of richly flavored coffee. The roast style here was a long and slow process – it took many months to years to get a dark roasts that were both flavorful and smooth. 2) Coffee became more popular in Europe after the Napoleonic Wars (1814-1815). Prince Napoleon Bonaparte wanted to show his subjects that he could rule with an iron fist and make them drink expensive wine instead of peasant's milk. He ordered his government officials to start importing large quantities of Arabica beans from Africa, which improved the flavor profile and made coffee more valuable. 3) The industrial revolution started around 1847 and changed everything about how people drank coffee. With new methods of manufacturing products such as milling beans using water pressure or steam pressing, economies shifted towards producing larger quantities at lower costs. As a result, Starbucks began making their first espresso machines in 1967 – this allowed them to begin selling whole bean coffees rather than just ground beans like other businesses did earlier in the century.

By 1907, the population had increased to 30 and by 1912, to 50. In 1916, the town's first school opened and the first post office was established. In 1924, the town annexed a neighboring community, Dry Creek. In 1941, Bixby became an independent city with its own mayor and City Council. The following year, it annexed another neighbor-city, Wetumpka. On November 1st of that year, Bixby became an official U.S.-Mexico border crossing point on OK Highway 66 between Tularosa County in Mexico and Haskell County in Oklahoma
