Bethany is a small town in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The Bethany Volunteer Fire Department (BBFD) was organized on January 1, 1907. The first fire was fought in a barn which stood on the present site of the Bethany Schoolhouse. A new building was erected and used until 1913 when a new station was built south of town and named after Mrs. Lillie Hennigan who donated money for it. In 1924 an addition to the station house was dedicated by Mayor Fenton Vargo and named after Miss Jennie Dillard who had been instrumental in helping organize BBFD also in 1924-1925 On October 15th, 1951 an early morning fire destroyed most of the old schoolhouse leaving only one side standing which housed a garage and two classrooms A new schoolhouse/community center was completed in 1957 with funds from local resident Belle Wiegand and Driscoll Brothers hardware store across town that had donated land for it In 1978-1981 another earthmoving project uncovered a large water well near Union High School which served as the village's water main until 1984 when it opened to residents of all villages within Lincoln County over long distances through Telephone Company lines

Bethany, Oklahoma is a town in Haskell County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,622 at the 2010 census. Bethany is named after Bethania Greenway who was born in 1868 in Pennsylvania and died in 1945. The creation of Haskell County occurred on November 1, 1907 with the annexation of Guthrie and many other towns including Bethany. The town of Bethany was platted on February 19, 1908 by Wm. Easley and C P Hargrave from land that had been donated by John Dickson to support education in the area. The first post office was established at Bethany on March 15, 1908; it was renamed Rocksville on October 4th of that year following the merger of two localities with the same name: Rocksville had been established as a village in 1907. Rocksville continued to be policed by a constable until 1912 when it became a town under its own management with an elected mayor and council. The railroad arrived in 1907 and brought new life to Bethany which quickly began developing into one of the most important agricultural centres east of Wichita Falls Texas due to its location near both railroads and river systems providing easy access to markets all around the region for farmers. With increased trade opportunities came more industry arriving soon after such as a flour mill being erected at Bethany which helped contribute to economic development within the community during this time period as well as helping create much needed jobs for locals who weren’t directly involved with agriculture or business but were instead typical citizens who contributed their time and effort towards building community infrastructure such as schools, parks etcetera over what could have been seen as just another suburban development back then without any connection or impact whatsoever to surrounding communities outside of Haskell County! In fact there are several examples throughout history where small towns have flourished even while larger municipalities have dwindled away over time due largely to lackadaisical leadership or simply poor vision which is why it’s so important for those within local government institutions (such as city hall & county courthouse)to continue championing community initiatives & working hard towards maintaining cohesive relationships & cooperation between different segments within their jurisdiction whether that be individuals, businesses, organizations or governmental entities!
