Coffee has been brewed in Bethany, Oklahoma for over a hundred years. In the early 1800s, coffee beans were ground and sold by small farmers. The first coffee roasters in Bethany were operated by Mr. Bickerton and his wife Mrs. Beastie from 1892 to 1896. By 1912, coffee was being roasted at the local mill by the Moran family. In 1915, Joe Moran started brewing coffee at his home on North Main Street in Bethany. At that time, it was the only place in town to get coffee. The Moran family continued to roast their own beans until they discontinued operations in 1951. From then on, it was bagged and brought into town by truck every day from the farm down North Main Street. The first Starbucks opened its doors in Tulsa back in 1971 and soon after began selling coffee out of their shop on NW First Avenue. Today, Starbucks is one of Oklahoma's most popular tourist destinations with over 120 stores throughout the state!

The Bethany Coffee Company was founded in 1907 by a group of friends who pooled their money to purchase a small coffee shop. The business grew rapidly, and soon they were selling coffee to all over the city. In 1916, they opened their own store, and quickly became known as the go-to place for coffee in town. In 1948, the company merged with another local business, the Original Dutch Bros., and this gave them even more credibility within the community. They continue to serve up delicious morning coffees until now!
Bethany, Oklahoma is a small town in the US state of Oklahoma. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskogee County seat. The Bethany Volunteer Fire Department serves the community with a total of 12 engines, 18 trucks and 2 helicopters. The history of Bethany can be traced back to 1881 when four farmers named O'Malley purchased land on what is nowNW 8th Street in downtown Bethany from John Wetzel. In 1907, Phebe Wetzel donated land to establish the Wetzel Memorial Park which still bears her name today. In 1951, local dentist Dr David Nance Jr donated $10,000 towards the erection of a city hall and library for Bethany. After years of fundraising efforts by individuals and businesses in the town, City Hall was dedicated on April 6th, 1957. During World War II, Bethany was one of many towns that benefited from Project Crayola which sent American troops to fight in Europe as part of Patton'sOperation Crossroads. After Victory in Europe led to America's entry into World War II, many people made plans to move away from war-torn Europe due to hard times after hostilities ended. However, with so many people moving away during wartime Governor Haskell signed an executive order creating an emergency housing project called "The Ghetto". Over 700 families were relocated into this massive housing project located near NW 5th Avenue and S 3rd Street until it closed its doors in 1951 due to lack of population growth within Muskogee County since Pearl Harbor had happened only two years earlier! Today there are few reminders that The Ghetto ever existed other than a few streetlights that control access to what once was a large area home to over 1000 citizens! As far as businesses go things have definitely changed since then for Bethany! Starting out as just a tiny shopkeepers post office back in 1957 (the first store opened under current business ownership), today's BethANY has grown significantly into one of muskogee county's most thriving economic hubs! With its own professional football team (the OKC Cowboys) and numerous cultural events taking place throughout the year (like Oktoberfest being held twice each year!), it really isn't any surprise that BethANY has managed stay afloat through some tough times!

Bethany, Oklahoma is a town in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest city in Muskogee County and one of the most rural towns in the state. The town was founded by two brothers who were printers. The first post office was established in Bethany on December 25, 1898. When railroads arrived in the area, they took over postal service and mail delivery from the brothers. As a result of this competition, Bethany lost its status as a small town and became an agricultural center with many farms handling goods for local residents and businesses. In 1935, Bethany's status as an agricultural center ended when oil production began in the area and businesses started to move into the community to take advantage of the new employment opportunities. The population continued to grow until it reached 2,500 by 1970. However, during that time period only a fraction of what had been built had been completed due to lack of money or political interest; most of what remained was built after 2000 when restrictions were placed on building within city limits due to growth sprees elsewhere in Muskogee County following oil discoveries nearby
