In 1948, ArdMORE INC., along with other maritime companies formed MARINE GAMES CORPORATION (MGC). MGC became one of the largest privately held shipping companies in America and today operates over 150 ships both registered and unregistered vessels carrying over 2 million passengers annually!

Ardmore is a small town in the eastern Oklahoma Panhandle, located on the edge of the University of Oklahoma campus. The population was 7,047 at the 2010 census. Ardmore is one of three towns in OU's Ardmore Campus Area and is also home to the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. The first people to live in what is now ArdMORE were Native Americans who hunted and gathered wild game in the area. In 1837, James Witherspoon led an expedition into what is now ArdMORE and named it after his father, Major General Andrew Jackson Witherspoon. One year later, REMI NICHOLS built a log cabin near present-day Main Street. By 1841, LEWIS SIMPSON had moved from Tellico City about 12 miles northeast to start a cattle ranch that would eventually encompass over 20 square miles (50 km²). Simpson's herd of twenty thousand head of cows ranged along both sides of the Arkansas River for two years before being driven west by drought in 1843. In 1889, PILGRIM'S CABINET FOUNDATION built a convent/college on land donated by Frémont County lumberman John Sommerski with intentions of educating women interested in missionary work throughout Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). The college operated until 1907 when it became known as Eastern State Normal School (ESN) due to its affiliation with Eastern State College located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; ESN closed its doors on December 15th 1909 following World War I. On July 1st 1915 JAMES MILLER OF OKLAHOMA CITY purchased 3 acres near present day Main Street from Remi Nichols for $10 per acre ($140 per hectare). This purchase marked the beginning of what would become Millers Oil Field which currently extends across nearly 30% of Tulsa County including much of downtown ArdMORE! On October 8th 1921 JAMES MILLER OF OKLAHOMA CITY sold an additional 2 acres southeast of Main Street for $25 per acre ($320 per hectare). This addition raised the total size from 4 acres (the original property) to 6 acres where it remains today! With these additions came further development within what would be soon called "Millers Addition" or simply "Mills Addition." At this point progress began on building what are today some of OU's most iconic landmarks: Millers Chapel (1897), Administration Building (1924), Athletic Hall Annex (1927), McKnight Theatre annex (1935), Art Gallery Annex(1963), and Research Laboratory Annex(1978). The economic recession that hit Oklahoma during the late 1990s caused many businesses within Mills Addition to close their doors; however, ArdMORE never lost its sense-of-communityhood and has continued to grow since then with initiatives such as community block parties and annual chili cookoffs. In 2007–2008 ARDMOREestablished itself as "the next great American city" through their creation of TheCityLabTM - an online platform highlighting creativity & innovation around town – becoming one example among many others around town hosting similar programs each summer
