Xenia, Ohio is a small town in the Southern Tier of Ohio. It was founded in 1827 by families from Xenia, Pennsylvania. The first post office in Xenia was established in 1828. The present courthouse was built in 1907 and dedicated to the memory of General William Tecumseh Sherman. The Xenia Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the community since 1896. The Xenia Police Department was organized on November 1, 1903. The first municipal election in Xenia took place on November 3, 1904. At that time, there were only two wards- one for men and one for women- and no school Superintendent or Mayor. In 1906, the citizens of Xenia approved a resolution establishing a Board of Education which would provide educational opportunities for their children. In 1919, xenial High School (now known as Carleton) opened its doors to students grades 9 through 12 and served as the local high school until it closed in 1957 when Xenia Middle School opened。 In 1951, Xenia Elementary School became an all-day kindergarten program; this program continued until 1984 when it became an after-school program for pre-kindergarten through 4th grade students). From 1954 to 1957 there was also a day care operated out of xenial Elementary School called Lillie B’s Play House (). In 1961 xenial Middle School became part of Trumbull County Vocational/Technical High School District No.-1 (). On February 14th Of 1964 Trumbull County announced that xenial Middle School would become Carleton Junior/Senior High School effective with the 1965–1966 school year.; however due to budget cuts at TCVHSD #1 all xenialMiddleSchool student body transferred to CCJHSS effective September 1st 1966.) On October 15th 1969 Trumbull County announced they would close xenialMiddleSchool effective December 31st 1969 due to lack of enrollment so new schools had to be erected elsewhere.)

Xenia, Ohio is a small town in the United States located in the southern tier of the Ohio Valley. The population was 3,971 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Xenia-Beach Township, and is on the border of Xenia and Beach Township. Xenia was founded by John Potter in 1811 as a stopping point on his journey from Miami to Youngstown. The first settler in Xenia, Elijah Hicks, arrived in 1814. In 1847, David Waddell built a mill here and began to produce flour for local markets. By 1850 there were ten families living in Xenia. The Panic of 1893 caused a great deal of economic dislocation throughout eastern Ohio; xenialitians saw their opportunities disappear as mills closed down or went out of business. However, Isaac Newton Dyer worked hard to keep all three businesses running during this time and was eventually able to reestablish himself as an important citizen and businessman in Xenia after being discharged from his military service in 1894. Consequently, xenialitians came to see him as both their protector and role model during this difficult time – something that he continues to maintain today. In 1907 Xenia had its first post office which served as the village's main artery until it was replaced by Ulysses S Grant Boulevard in 1969; however, mail still reached Xenia through the old post office until 1988 when UPS opened its own facility here which eliminated much of the need for mail transportation between our town and Youngstown proper (thus reducing expenditures on infrastructure). Xenia, Ohio is a small town in eastern Ohio that was founded in 1825. The town became a borough in 1903 and then a city in 1907. Xenia was originally named for the Xeni tribe of Indians who lived along the banks of the Scioto River. In 1814, General Anthony Wayne made an ill-fated attempt to cross the river at Xenia and were almost swept away by the current. The name Xenia came about because of this incident. The first settler in Xenia was John Hickey, who arrived in 1825. He built a cabin on the banks of the Scioto River. Other early settlers included Nicholas Purdy and his family, which arrived in 1826; Isaiah Morse, who came in 1830; James Whitefield, who arrived in 1833; and George Wills, who arrived on October 11th, 1840. In 1903, Xenia became a borough and then a city when it merged with nearby Athens. At its peak as a city, xenia had over 40 businesses including several breweries and mills. The population declined during World War II as industry moved out to other locations throughout Ohio but has since rebounded with new development around the downtown area and new housing developments near Interstate 71/I-71W exits 12 & 13. Today xenia is home to a small community called Greenville that straddles I-71W & US 421 making it accessible from both directions without exiting or entering through Xenia proper
