Willowick, Ohio is home to the United States Air Force Academy. The academy was founded in 1912 and is one of the most prestigious air academies in the world. It has produced many successful air force officers, including Joint Chiefs of Staff members Admiral Mike Mullen and General James Mattis. The Willowick section of Dayton, Ohio was once a center for aircraft manufacturing. In World War II, Willowick was home to the Republic Aviation Corporation which manufactured Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter planes. Today, the area still produces aircraft but it is now mostly used for research and development purposes by the US Air Force. The statue was donated by local businessmen and citizens in memory of Custer's death at Little Bighorn during World War I. Willowick, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,953 at the 2010 census and 2,045 in 2013. It is part of the Lima–Muncie–Elyria, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located about 18 miles (29 km) north-northwest of Columbus. Willowick was platted in 1836 by two brothers from Slippery Rock Township in southwestern Pennsylvania. The town was named for willow trees that grew along the nearby riverbank. The first post office opened in 1840, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1853. settlers arrived in Willowick during the 1830s as part of the larger migration to what is now central Ohio from northeast Pennsylvania and west Virginia. By 1840, there were nine families living here; most of whom had come from Slippery Rock Township on the east side of the Allegheny River near points such as Middletown and Johnstown. In 1850, when Dayton became an incorporated city, Willoughby's only neighbor south of Dayton was Springfield Township on the west side of Cuyahoga River near its confluence with Muskegon Creek; however, Willoughby's population continued to grow slowly because it lacked any serious commercial or industrial interests other than agriculture until after World War II when industry began to take off around Lima and more people moved into Willoughby due to its proximity to those cities as well as its limited highways system which made commuting easy from all parts of central Ohio

The USAF has always had a strong relationships with its allies and partners around the world. This relationship has earned them an iconic status within our society. Some of the most famous events where USAF members have participated include: helping liberate Europe from Nazi Germany during World War II; supporting Operation Desert Storm against Iraq in 1990; roleplaying Delta Team during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001-2002; providing humanitarian assistance during Hurricane Katrina in 2005-2006; playing host to numerous international conferences such as IAEA nuclear disarmament talks at RAF Fairford in 2009-2010 and CERN European particle physics meeting at Les Eyzies du Calvados on 14 July 2009.]] Today, there are more than 22 000 active duty members within the USAF alone! While it may seem like there is no limit to what any individual can give away through their donations, it is also important to remember that each member contributes something very valuable to our society. Each gift means something different for each person who receives it, but overall they all contribute towards making sure we all stay safe and secure!

The AEF was created on December 12, 1947 when President Harry Truman signed legislation that organized the USAF into three operational regions: Europe, Asia and South America. It was through donation of equipment and materials to these regions that the Air Force was able to expand its reach and protect our citizens. Today, the Air Force continues to make a difference in our society by giving back to those who have helped us achieve our missions. From supplying airmen with needed gear and supplies, to donating time and resources to support numerous worthy causes, we are proud of our past and continue working hard today to serve as one unified force.
Willowick, Ohio is a small town located in the northern part of the state of Ohio. It was probably named after Willow Creek which flows through the town. The first settlers in Willowick were white men who came to what is now Willowick in 1824. There was only one store and 12 residents when it opened. In 1827, a school was built and in 1846, a post office was established. The first settler to die in Willowick was David Fenton in 1851. over time, Willowick grew and became an important community with a number of businesses and organizations including: an agricultural society; a Mechanics Institute; a Methodist Episcopal Church; a Baptist Church; and Williston Park Cemetery. The townspeople built many impressive homes such as the John Atherton House which still stands today, the Isaac Newton House which has been preserved as an historical landmark, and several churches including the Methodist Episcopal Church (which is also the oldest standing church in Williston Park), First Presbyterian Church (which replaced an earlier church that burned down), and finally Grove United Methodist Episcopal Church (which replaced another church that caught on fire). As many people began moving away from Willowick during World War II, some of these homes were sold off or taken down while others were given to local schools or used as war memorials such as the John Atherton House which still serves as headquarters for the local history museum. Today, much of what once made up Willowick are gone but there are still many interesting artifacts from that time including: pottery from early days; bricks from construction projects; old maps/plans for Williston Park; pioneer journals/letters; Confederate flag buttons/jewelry

In 1815, Willowick was made the county seat of Delaware County. In 1837, the town was renamed to honor Colonel George Washington Willowick. Willowick remained an important community until the late 1800s when it slowly lost its importance due to industrialization and technological advances. However, the town still retains a few notable landmark buildings such as the Willowick Library which is open to the public every day of the week.
