The U.S. government has given gifts to many people in Whitehall, Ohio since the early 1800s. The first gift was a cannon from the British military in 1802. In 1815, President James K. Polk gave a gift of land to the community for its bravery during the Battle of Fallen Timbers. In 1825, General Andrew Jackson gave a donation of land for a Mechanics School and Hospital in Whitehall. The Manchester Presbyterian Church also received a gift in 1850 from Augustus Hennepin, who donated $5,000 for its construction. In 1865, President Andrew Johnson ordered that all cannons be melted down and used to build new artillery at Fort Meade in Maryland instead of being sent back to England as originally planned. This event is considered the start of the U.S.-Canada War (1863-1868). From 1870-1914, Whitehall received numerous donations including rifles, ammunition, horses and other items needed for defense during American expansionism across Canada. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson established an Army Air Forces Base at Whitley Bay on Lake Erie in order to better defend America against Germany's potential Zeppelins during World War I. The base would remain operational until 1945 when it was decommissioned due to lack of funds. During World War II, Whitley Bay served as home base for several U SAAF Units including Third Air Force which flew strategic bombing missions over Japan from here between 1944-1945
Whitehall is a town in Perry Township, Kingdom County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati–Middletown–Wilmington, OH-KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Whitehall was James Hadden in 1811. A post office was established here under the name Harmony on October 6, 1814. The present town site was laid out by John Randolph in 1797 and named for George Washington's headquarters during his military campaigns in Virginia and North Carolina. In 1802, a schoolhouse and store were erected within the limits of the new town; but this establishment failed to prove popular with residents and it soon closed its doors. In 1830, Whitehall grew rapidly as a result of an influx of settlers from neighboring communities who had discovered rich coal seams near its location. By 1840 there were over 100 people living in Whitehalltownships alone. In 1851 white citizens voting on township elections selected Adamsville trustees to manage their affairs; this system continued until 1863 when county government assume control over township affairs (see also History of Perry Township). As early as 1800s there were plans to build a road from Cincinnati through Perry Township linking Blacklick Creek with other nearby townships such as Middletown and Wilmottsville so that goods could be transported easily between these settlements without having to go all the way downriver to Morristown or even Toledo. However due to rising expenses associated with building such a road (eager landowners contributed more money than necessary), nothing came of these plans until after Ohio became an independent country following the American Civil War A group of Methodist Episcopal missionaries arrived in Whitehalltownships among others around 1850 while serving at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church which later became known as First Korean Presbyterian Church located today off US Route 422 east side just past I-75 exit 173B near Canaan junction

Whitehall was once a vibrant community located in the heart of Ohio's manufacturing district. The town was founded by white settlers in the early 1800s and quickly grew into a center for industry and commerce. Whitehall thrived thanks to its access to excellent transportation and waterways, as well as its location on the main road connecting Cincinnati with Pittsburgh. In the late 1800s, however, Whitehall began to decline as industries moved out of town or vanished altogether. Today, only a few faint traces of its past remain, such as the remains of one of White Hall's original factories. However, there is much that visitors can learn about this fascinating community during their visit here!
The Whitehall settlement was an early settlement in what is now Whitehall Township, Ohio, United States. The first white people to live in the township were families from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, who arrived in 1786. The settlers built a small cabin near the present day intersection of Highways 35 and 78. A store was built on the site by 1812 and a school opened in 1816. The name of the settlement changed to Whitehall when it became part of Washington County, Ohio.
