The Air Force Gift History Collection at US Air Force Base Wright-Patterson in Dayton, Ohio, preserves and catalogs the air force's gifts to West Carrollton City. This collection includes items donated by members of the USAF community and from outside sources. Beginning in 1947, when the USAF activated its first stationed unit in Dayton, a number of donations were received from individuals and groups within the USAF community. One such donation was an airplane hangar at Wright-Patterson AFB that was used as a storage area for military aircraft. In 1951, another donation was made when Major General Curtis E. LeMay donated an F-86 Sabre fighter jet to the city of Dayton as a gift for use in assorted civic events. In 1963, after years of planning and fundraising, Headquarters USAF created the "West Carrollton Community Foundation" with the goal of donating money or other assets to support local organizations through grants and donations. The foundation continued to make donations until its dissolution in 1996. Since then, many collections have been formed within both Headquarters USAF and local branches throughout the United States Navy (USN) and Air Force (AAF). These collections include items from numerous agencies within each branch of service as well as items from outside sources that have been donated by individual citizens or organizations within those branches of service. The history behind these gifts is always richly documented through photographs, documents, artifacts and memories shared by those who have had their lives changed by these investments!

West Carrollton City, Ohio is a city in Richland County, Ohio, United States. The population was 11,878 at the 2010 census. The city is the namesake of West Carroll Township. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. West Carrollton City was founded on April 12, 1836, by John A. Carver and his brothers as a village called "Carver's Station". On November 3, 1838, it became a town when it was annexed by the larger carol town of Bedford Heights. The townsite name change may have been influenced by local founder John A. Carver's observation that "the place where he now stands [Bedford Heights] hath for many years past been one of the most populous places in this vicinity." On October 5, 1870, WCC received its charter from the state of Ohio and became an independent city with its own government. In 1914 it consolidated with Bedford Heights to form West Carrollton-Bedford Heights Municipality which continued until annexation by Cleveland on July 1, 1996. The current mayor is Democrat Frank Jackson who took office in January 2018 after being elected as a candidate running unopposed in November 2017

West Carrollton City is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 11,827 at the 2010 census,[1] down from 12,531 in 2000. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded on December 2, 1825 by Nicholas Silliman and others as West Carroll Township (now Cuyahoga County).[2][3] The first post office opened in 1828 and was called West Pointe.[4] The name change to Carrollton on January 5, 1846[5][6][7] due to confusion with other communities in Cuyahoga County that had also been named after General John H. Carroll (1786-1865). The town of West Carrollton grew rapidly throughout the 19th century because of its strategic location near major transportation hubs such as Cleveland and Akron. In 1865, when Ohio became a state, Carrollton became one of the original cities within the new state capital area. By 1870 it had reached its peak population with over 20 thousand residents,[8] but declined during the great depression caused by World War II.[9][10][11] In 1948, however,Carrollton experienced a surge in population due to an influx of immigrants from Poland who were displaced during World War II[12]. Today's much younger population has responded well to aggressive marketing campaigns by local businesses seeking to attract high-tech companies and young professionals;[13][14][15]WESTCARROLLTON CITY has even become known for producing some of America’s top chefs - notably Grant Achatz and Rufus King - thanks to its rich culinary history dating back more than 250 years!
On October 3, 1814, in what is now West Carrollton City, Ohio, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Commission organized a meeting to discuss the possibility of admitting new immigrants to America. The commissioners decided that a small town like West Carrollton would be the perfect location for such an experiment and recommended that the city erect a statue of George Washington as a model immigrant. On November 4, 1814, Mayor John A. Armstrong erected the statue in front of City Hall.
