In 1892, Washington Court House was the home of the United States Air Force. The first American air force was created in 1911 when a group of patriotic citizens gathered to form the Aeronautical Association. In 1927, Congress designated it as an air base for strategic bomber forces. Washington Court House served as the Headquarters and Operations Center for strategic bombers during World War II. It also played a role in the Korean War as well. After the war, Washington Court House reverted to its original purpose as an agricultural center and then became a schoolhouse until it was purchased by Ohio University in 1973 and used as their main campus buildings. In 1978, Ohio University placed an orders plaque on the building marking its dedication to aerospace education at Washington Court House. The university continued to use it as their main campus buildings until they moved out in 2003 due to budgetary cutsbacks within Ohio University’s budget. However, portions of the building still remain vacant and are currently being leased out for student housing purposes by local businesses who hope to find yet another solution to restoring this important piece of history back into Ohio University’s hands. Washington Court House is one of America’s most significant landmarks associated with aeronautics and has been alterations throughout its history; however, no definitive story exists about how or when this landmark first came into possession of Ohio University. It is known that some patriotic individuals from Medina County pooled together money and bought property adjacent to where present day Dayton now stands in order to establish what would become Dayton’s Aeronautical Museum (later called The Cleveland Museum-Ohio). This organization had been set up by aviation enthusiasts who were interested in preserving America's aviation heritage through exhibits and educational programs related thereto In 1932-1933 there were two exhibitions on display at Dayton due primarilyto vehicle registrations issuedby both Columbus Municipal Airportand Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport each listing Daytonaircraft registered there including P-38 Lightning fighter planes operated byDaytonAerospace Industries Co., Incorporated while also exhibiting six Curtiss JN-6B Jenny monoplanes belonging tothe Hanna Aircraft Companyof Toledoraqular FieldNo evidence exists that either exhibition ever materialized however because shortly thereafterboth airports closed their registration requirementsbecoming state runAirports under Federal Aviation Administration jurisdiction PriorTo becominganuniversityin1965theClevelandMuseumchangedtotheOhioUniversitymuseumrelocatedfromDaytontoWiseman Terminal Squarecontainingahalf centuryold brick warehousesbuilt insoutheasternohiocityalongwithseveral smaller aircraft museumsbefore finally closingin1992due totreatmentbytheUnitedStates National Archivesas part ofitsnational Historic Landmark program . While much has changed over time regarding how Washington Court House came into ownership or use by Ohio University, one thing remains constant: The importance attached thereto both historically and presently! As we move forward into tomorrow surrounded by so many new technologies which impact our daily lives more than ever before, it will be interesting see how these same institutions continue To play such an instrumental role not just within our society but also within our skies!

The USAF has a rich history of giving gifts. Gifts have been given to the USAF by many different people and organizations. The USAF has also given gift baskets, medals, books, and other items in the past. Gift history with the USAF begins on July 15th, 1942 when the USAAF Foundation was established. This foundation was created to help support the USAAF during World War II. The USAF Foundation gave donations of money, materials, and even aircraft to various causes throughout the war. On December 16th, 1941, President Franklin D Roosevelt signed Executive Order 8802 which allowed for the purchase of planes by the USAAF. This order allowed for more planes to be bought and made available to American pilots fighting in World War II. On January 5th, 1945 President Harry Truman issued Executive Order 14525 which said that all equipment needed for air forces should be provided by American manufacturers within six months of its manufacture or it would be confiscated and used for military purposes only. This order meant that American manufacturers had to provide parts for RAF bombers as well as fighter planes and tanks! The post-war era started out very differently for the USAF than it does today. In 1946 Congress passed The National Aeronautics and Space Act which prohibited any government from owning or controlling any sort of aviation machine or technology whatsoever!. This act limited United States aerospace businesses in a lot ways including but not limited to their ability to give away products or services gratis! However this did not mean that Aerojet Rocketdyne couldn’t give away presents! On November 1st 1947 they donated a C-7A Skytrain jet airliner (the first jetliner ever built)to NASA in honor of Dr Neil Armstrong! They also gave another jet airliner (the Boeing 727)to NASA on December 3rd 1948 in honor of Mr James A Marshall who was then Director General at NASA! These were just a few examples of how Aerojet Rocketdyne offered free gifts throughout their years as a donor/sponsor with United States Aerospace Forces!
In 1951, the USAF ordered the development of a new bomber which would be called the F-117A. In early 1957, Lockheed Martin was contracted to design and build the first model of this aircraft. The F-117A became one of America's most successful bombers and continues to serve with the USAF today.
