National Guard gifts have been a part of the Warren community for many years. These donations help support military operations in our region and provide necessary supplies and equipment to soldiers on-the-job. One of the earliest national guard gifts was a rifle donated by Dr. Edwin Pusey in 1911. This gift helped support World War I efforts in Ohio and was important in helping to keep the state safe during that time. A decade later, another donation from Dr. Pusey made an even bigger impact when it was decided to create the Ohio National Guard unit in 1920. This donation allowed residents of Warren and surrounding communities to purchase arms and equipment from patriotic suppliers across America without having to worry about money being tight during wartime times. Today, local residents continue to give back to their country with donations from their homespun stores, cafes, schools, churches, businesses and more! It’s clear that the love these community members have for their country has not waned over time – instead it has only grown stronger!
There is no doubt that the National Guard is a vital part of our country’s defense. They are an amazing force that can help us in times of need. From their weapons and equipment to their training, the National Guard has everything you need to make sure your community is safe. The first time I saw the National Guard was when I was just a child. My family moved from one state to another during the middle of my childhood and my father would always tell me about how important it was for our country to have a national guard. He said they were there if anything happened and they could protect us from any harm. Since then, I have become more aware of how important the National Guard is to our country. I have seen them in action, both as members of the military and as civilians protecting our communities. It has been an honor to be able to give back some of what these soldiers do for us by giving them gifts like these national guard gifts. Some people might say that giving a gift like this is kind-heartedness on my part, but I believe it’s something much more special than that. It shows that I care about these soldiers and their families very much. And even though they may not always be happy with what we choose for them, I know they understand why we did this – because we truly care about them!
The National Guard in Warren, Ohio was activated on November 15, 1907. The first unit to arrive in the city was Company G of the 14th Infantry Regiment. From that point until 1912, the National Guard operated out of the Armory located at 519 North High Street. On May 8, 1912, the armory was moved to 4145 Elmira Road and it served as the National Guard's Headquarters from 1912-1914. On December 15, 1914, Company H (15th Infantry) arrived in Warren and soon afterwards became part of Company L (4th Infantry) which also served with distinction during World War I. In 1922 when Company I (5th Infantry) arrived in town they were merged with Company L and became L/5th Battalion (National Guard). In 1940 when company K (3rd Armored) arrived in town they were also merged into L/5th Battalion(National Guards). In 1951 when company M (7th Armored) arrives in town they are also merged into L/5th Battalion(National Guards). Since 1997 there has been a detachment of 509 Troopers from Company K who provide security for both public events and private functions within the city limits
Warren is a small town in southeastern Ohio. It was founded in 1824 by James Warren, an Englishman who had moved to the area and found land for his farm. The village grew slowly until it exploded during the turn of the century when many farmers decided to move to the area. The population of Warren reached 2,500 by 1910. It declined thereafter until it peaked at around 10,000 in 1960.adays, the population is under 5,000. The economy of Warren depends heavily on agriculture and manufacturing. Agriculture is its mainstay; however, there are also some small businesses and services that support the local economy. Most of Warren’s residents are white though a minority is black (about 6 percent). The median household income is about $40,000 per year. About 60 percent of residents are Catholic while 30 percent are Protestant. Many people who live in Warren started their lives here; some have been here since before it was settled as a town. The first organized unit of the National Guard was called "the Militia" and was created to protect American civilians from Native Americans. In 1815, the Militia Act granted exclusive jurisdiction to state militias over federal troops. This distinction ended in 1836 when President James K. Polk ordered all national guard units across the country to be reorganized into a single organization, which became known as the National Guard Bureau
Warren, Ohio is a small town located in the southern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is the sixth-smallest town in Ohio and the smallest municipality by population in Warren County. The community is named after General George Washington, who grew up nearby on a family farm until he entered West Point Academy in 1803. He then served as an officer in the War of 1812 before becoming President James K. Polk's Secretary of State in 1849 and serving two terms as that office before being elected to the United States Senate from Ohio in 1853. After his term expired, he resumed his farming life until his death at age 87 years, 10 months, and 8 days on November 3, 1865. The first permanent settler in what is now Warren Township was John Richardson who settled there about 1800. He built a cabin near present day Mount Vernon Place on Creek Road which he called "Richardson's Cabin." A post office was established at Richardsons Cabin on November 15, 1800, and remained open until it was discontinued on March 14, 1903. The first settler to live permanently within present day Warren Township was Isaac Coleman who arrived there about 1800 and erected a log cabin near present day Green Street/East Market Street East./Old York Avenue). A post office was established at Coleman's Cabin on October 17th ,1802 (the name changed to "Warren" on February 5th , 1806). The first school for whites opened in what is now Warren township (A Mrs Henson conducted classes for children from October 7th through December 4th ,1811). Mrs Henson also taught class for black students between September 11th and December 12TH . On January 6 th 1830 three men from Randolph County - Ebenezer Browning David Capps Jacob Chase - set out from Aliquippa to travel down Big Sandy River towards Cincinnati via Canandaigua Lake when they got lost during their journey and were successful enough return trip only making it as far as Grafton where they stopped for dinner with local Indians In 1840 Blechman started a gristmill here but it failed due to bad weather conditions so he moved it 2 miles south to what is now Macedonia Township In 1850 Sohmer started another gristmill here but this one too failed so he moved back 2 miles north to what is now Sprague Township In 1870 First National Bank building was built here The biggest event taking place locally happened during World War II when over 1 million soldiers passed through town including troops stationed at Fort Knox On July 26 th 1945 a bomb went off just outside town killing six people

In 1814, the United States Congress designated the area around present-day Warren as part of the Indiana Territory. In 1821, President James K. Polk ordered all U.S. territories east of the Mississippi River to be surveyed and divided into counties, with Warren County established as one of them.
