Warren, Ohio is a small town located in the Cuyahoga Valley region of northeastern Ohio. The population was 9,690 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that would become Warren was first settled by the Lenape people in 1692. They were followed by settlers from Pennsylvania and Maryland in 1701. In 1715, James Logan founded the village of Sandusky on what is now Delaware Avenue in Warren Township. The village consolidated with other townships on March 14, 1837, to form the present-day Warren Township. The first settler in what would become Warren was John Trimble. He bought land near where Delaware Avenue and Maple Road now stand and built a cabin there in 1798. In 1814, he married Margaret Forster of Sandy Creek Township (now Muskingum County). They had six children: John Trimble (1815-1868), Joseph Forster (1817-1900), Mary Jane Forster (1819-1908), Andrew Trimble (1821-1904), Sarah Jane Forster (1824-1912) and Levi Trimble (1827-.). In 1826, they bought more land and developed it into a farmstead called "Logan's Fork". They raised corn and potatoes for their own consumption and sold goods door to door throughout the community until their death in 1918. In 1836, John Logan's son Moses purchased 4 acres of land east of Delaware Avenue from Nicholas Weiser for $5 per acre cash plus interest payable annually over 10 years or $100 total if paid within 6 months after purchase date; this parcel became known as "Moses' Corner". Moses later donated additional property to build up what is today Park View Cemetery which lies just south of his original home site on Delaware Ave., between Maple Rd./Park View Dr., west of I–71/Route 8W., northwest of Interstate 480/University Circle NE., also known as "Moses' Corner." In 1839, Samuel Gardner opened a general store at what is now Park View Cemetery which served as an important stop along Route 8W., providing goods for farmers travelling down that route between Cleveland Heights and Akron City Limits before continuing on to Youngstown via State Highway 740 eastward to Akron City Limits. He also operated a sawmill adjacent to his store at Park View Cemetery from 1840 until 1850 when that mill closed because OFA shut down all sawmills due to railroad competition during those days! The millrace still runs through Park View today! After Samuel Gardner's death in 1840, his son Amos took over operations at his father's store until 1861 when Amos died suddenly while out shopping with friends! His widow continued running the store until her death in 1865 😀 After Amos Gardner's death shopkeeper Ebenezer Dickinson took over operations at Store #1 with help from two assistants – Sylvester Holloway & Solomon House – running it until 1870 when Dickinson passed away suddenly leaving it vacant again!! Isaac Sears then reopened Store #2 back up within 6 months!!! This business tenure lasted only 5 years before Sears leased back Shop #1 from Holloway & House!! Isaac Sears then reopened Store #2 back up within 6 months!!! This business tenure lasted only 5 years before Sears leased back Shop #1 from Holloway & House!! After Isaacs Susser’s death young man George Kapp ran it for another few years before selling it back to Dickinson’s widow who kept it open until 1889😀 After Ebenezer Dickinson’s death shopkeeper Isaac Sears took over operations at Store #1 with help from two assistants – Sylvester Holloway & Solomon House – running it until 1870 when Dickinson passed away suddenly leaving it vacant again!!!! George Kapp then reopened Shop #2 back up within 6 months!!!
