In Warren, Ohio there has been coffee roasted for over 100 years! The first beans were ground in a small shop on the corner of Second and Canal Streets. Today, there are several roasters in Warren that offer fresh roasted coffee. The history of coffee in Warren can be traced back to 1824 when Nicholas Roebuck opened his first café in the town. Coffee was originally brewed from chicory root which was gathered near the town square. In 1865, a mill was built near the corner of Second and Canal streets and began production of whole bean coffee. The current owner of the mill, Don Hammons, started roasting beans at their business in 1984. They continue to roast whole bean beans until today and serve their customers throughout Warren and neighboring towns. With a focus on quality, they have developed a following among local consumers who appreciate their flavor profile as well as their sustainability - all while maintaining high standards for customer service.

The name Warren comes from an early settler's account of Indian hunting trips he and his party made to this area in 1813. In 1816, General John Custer and his brigade fought their way through Warren on their way to Battle Creek Campaign against Tecumseh and other Indian leaders. The battle is still celebrated as a victory for Ulysses S. Grant over Confederate General Robert E. Lee. After the war, General James K. Polk sent Union forces into Warren to investigate allegations that local politicians had bribed Confederate officers during the war. When these investigations revealed no wrongdoing, Polk named Warren as one of his favorite towns in America in order to promote its growth after the war. After World War II ended, many new residents moved into Warren due to its favorable location within easy driving distance of major metropolitan areas such as Cleveland and Cincinnati. This has led to increased traffic congestion and criticism from some residents who argue that large businesses have taken advantage of poor infrastructure conditions while reducing evening hours so they can open up late into the night; this has caused smaller businesses to close shop early morning or stay closed altogether during heavy traffic times when demand outstrips available resources
