Vermilion, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 3,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton metropolitan area. The community has been called "The Jewel of Cuyahoga County." It was founded by George Washington Carver and named after a deep red color found in Vermilion lead mines in central Ohio. The first settler on the site was Gideon Wells and his family in 1824. From that time until 1892, Vermilion had no schools other than log cabins for children to learn from scratch. In 1892, three brothers purchased land east of town from David Dibble and began to build a schoolhouse which would serve as the town's first library and center for education for all residents of Vermilion Township including children up to the age of sixteen years old who could not attend local homeschooling programs or private academies run by wealthy parents. That same year also saw the founding of what became known as “The Village” which consisted of a dozen two story frame buildings located off State Route 9 between I-675 and US 131 just south of downtown Vermilionville which served as both home to village members and their families during summer months while they awaited shipment of produce grown on their farmsteads east of town to be sold throughout the fall into November; winter storage for goods sold during harvesttime; an office for village president (later renamed Village Clerk); meeting rooms for village board meetings; two pump houses used by farmers to water their crops during dry spells; blacksmith shop; Masonic lodge with three degrees ceremonies held there each year on July 4th - this being one reason why early Vermilionians were so proud to call themselves “Masons & Farmers” even though they did not wear Masonic costumes or jewelry! In 1924, when it became apparent that new transportation facilities were needed within reachof all citizens because interurban bus service had become available through Cleveland Heights then Cleveland Municipal Airport but only servicing Akron/Canton area, bypassing Vermilion township altogether because Interurban routes went through neighboring Strongsville instead, trustees decided that a halt should be placed orderin development along SR 9 eastward from SR 7 until such time as better transportation options could be developed within radius thereof! In 1933 when construction began on state trunk road 1 (the present day Interstate 95), township trustees voted unanimously to erect banners along its entire length advertising “Vermilion Ford Sale” every Sunday morning starting September 15th thru December 15th9:00am ending at 5:00pm Thanksgiving Day those days only being open rain or shine! This event still occurs every year today with traffic congestion becoming more extreme due mainly thereto since almost halfway thru each day sale items are unloaded onto I-95 making it necessary now more than ever for drivers sunbathing & picnicking adjacentToI-95 near exit #5A)

The origins of the Marine Corps Gift History can be traced back to World War I when Marines served as part of the American Expeditionary Force (AEF). As America’s involvement in the war increased, so too did their need for help from those who could provide them with necessary supplies and equipment. In order to supplement their meager resources, Captains Charles A. Cooke and James Wickersham decided to send parcels containing items such as clothing, artillery ammunition, books, tools and other supplies directly to soldiers on the front lines. This act of kindness was soon followed by others in similar vein; during World War II Coast Artillery units donated everything they had including ammo boxes, cannons and vehicles to Marine battalions fighting overseas. Just as importantly, Marines have continued this tradition of giving back since 1945 by donating time or money towards fundraising campaigns or charity events across the U.S., Europe and Asia- each one bringing hope that every Soldier can find solace in knowing he or she is not alone when faced with difficult times at home or abroad.

Vermilion is a town in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Vermilion was James Ewing who arrived in 1814. He built a log cabin on the east side of the river and named it "Ewing's Ferry." A post office was established in 1831 and remained in operation until 1860. In 1836, four men – Elijah White, Jeremiah McKnight, John Fenton and Augustus Kelley – founded the village of Mount Vernon to serve as a center for trade with Indiana. They laid out a plat of land comprising what is now parts of Vermilion Township and built houses around an small creek that they named "Creek Rapids". The village functioned as a trading post until 1840 when it became an independent township. In 1847, Vermilion Academy was founded by Drs. James Hance and Nicholas Woodruff with $5,000 from Andrew Carnegie to provide education for poor children in central Ohio. In 1865-1866, traders Peter Ladd and Jacob Wetzel traveled through Vermilion buying goods from farmers along the way on their way to Cincinnati via the Chicago & Western Railroad. When they reached Cincinnati they unloaded their cargo at Park Central Station before continuing on their journey downriver where they sold their goods at several stores along the way before arriving at Canandaigua Lake where they unloadered their goods and took canoes across to Buffalo Bayou for storage before returning home. In 1870-71 school board member John Bigham donated land near present day Notre Dame Avenue and Elm Street to house a new school which opened its doors on October 14th that year serving grades K-8th (). The academy continued running until 1978 when it merged into nearby Mount Vernon High School which also served grades 9-12th (). When complete, Pemberton Road (now I-75) would have been one of America’s longest highways—running from Cincinnati directly across Buffalo Bayou to Terre Haute (now Terre Haute), Indiana! However this never happened because Congress refused funding for both roads during World War I due to fears that another war would start like World War II did not end effectively enough for them to build them! For all intents and purposes however “Pemberton Road” still stands today as one long highway connecting Columbus/Warren County with Butler County/Terre Haute clusters of suburbs just south including Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport right smack dab between those two counties sandwiched between Interstate 75 northbound traffic exiting Warren County onto US Route 52 southbound traffic exiting Butler Counties onto Interstate 74 eastbound traffic).

In 1824, the city was renamed Lima after General John C. Fremont who helped found Ohio as a new state. The city's economy declined during the Great Depression, but recovered in the 1940s and 1950s. After being hit hard by economic recession in the late 2000s, Lima began to rebound in recent years and is now one of Ohio's fastest-growing cities.
