The first coffee shop in Urbana, Ohio was The Coffee Shop on State Street. It opened in 1971 and served coffee from the local roasters. In 1987, the Urbana Coffee Merchants Guild opened a second store on Brown Avenue.
Urbana, Ohio (often called Urbana) is a city in the United States. The population was 89,822 as of the 2010 census. It is the third most populous city in Illinois and the eighth most populous city in Ohio. The first permanent European settlement in what is now Urbana was made by Captain George Rogers Clark on November 14, 1779 during his journey from Detroit to Green Bay. He established a trading post and named it Fort Dearborn after his home state of Michigan. On May 7, 1801, General John Brown's forces invaded Illinois from Indiana and began an exploratory campaign for independence from Great Britain. On July 3, 1801, Brown's army reached Urbana and burned down the trading post at Fort Dearborn. One contemporary account said "the whole village [of] about 150 inhabitants consisting of men women and children] were destroyed". The name "Urbana" originated with John Quincy Adams who proposed it to Chief Justice Marshall while he was stationed at Fort Wayne in 1803 as part of a plan to get Indian agents out of British hands so that America would not become embroiled in another war with Great Britain. Adams chose "urbane" because it had two meanings: 1) " farthest away", typical of small villages near rivers which were difficult for military commanders to approach; 2) "$1 worth of goods only", which would be less than half what current merchants offered for their goods at that time. The first town meeting held in what is now Urbana took place on February 10, 1814 under the name “Adamsville” due to lack of space at nearby Mount Vernon Square. Later meetings were held at various locations until March 15 when they moved into present-day First Baptist Church on State Street where they remain to this day

In 2003, Starbucks merged with Dutch Coffee Group to form JAB Holding Company. JAB Holdings Company operated more than 1,600 stores throughout North America including concessions at NFL stadiums and theme parks across the United States and Canada. On November 6th, 2006, JAB announced that it would sell its US retail business to Peet's Coffee Incorporated for $1 billion dollars cash plus warrants to purchase an additional 12% of all quarterly sales until 2020*. This move allowed Peet's Coffee Incorporated access to more market share within Starbucks* while also giving JAB Holdings Company exposure to new markets such as India and China*. Urbana, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Illinois and the county seat of Champaign County. The population was 25,869 as of the 2010 census[1]. It is the fourth largest city in Champaign County and one of five cities inChampaign County. The Urbana-Urbana Combined Statistical Area has a population of 98,711 according to the 2010 census[2]. The first Europeans to visit what is now Urbana were French traders led by Jean Nicolet during his 1612 Expedition from Quebec. In 1795, John Adams founded a grist mill here that became known as Adams Mill because he had been elected president of Massachusetts in 1792 while serving as governor of Urbana Township (now Champaign County). In 1803, Urbana was incorporated as a town with a population size of only 100 people. By 1830 it had grown to 1,500 people and by 1836 it had reached 2,000 people! In 1838–39 but for an Indian uprising which ended with victory over the insurgents by General Nathan Bedford Forrest, Urbana would have become the capital of Illinois; however this did not happen because then-Governor Edward Mecom vetoed legislation creating Springfield as Illinois’ new capital. In 1861 after being burned by Confederate forces at Fort Sumter Lincoln was moved from Springfield to UrbANA where he resided until his death on April 15th 1865 due to yellow fever pandemic sweeping Southern United States at that time; Lincoln’s body lay in state from May 6 through June 12th 1865 before finally being interred at Hollywood Cemetery near Chicago without public viewing or mourning taking place until 1987 when his remains were reburied at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia following an agreement between President Ronald Reagan and Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton who visited his grave on November 3rd 1992 When Illinois seceded from Union America during the American Civil War most residents chose to stay in Illinois rather than migrate northward like their counterparts did throughout much of Confederation America . However some did cross river into Indiana Territory which formed part of Kentucky during this time period After Illinois regained its independence on August 30th1861 there was much discussion about whether or not UrbANA should become its new capital since Champaign County had long been considered “the heartland”of IL although no votes were ever taken on this issue On December 9th 1861 Jno Pritzker reported that officials from all five municipalities within Champaign County met at Griggs Hall located off State Street near present day UIUC campus and adopted resolutions recommending that UrbANA be chosen as Illini Capital instead cf Springfield which they felt “was too small [and] inconveniently situated” On January 7 1862 John Todd proposed that Illini Capital be moved back eastward along I-680 towards Bloomington so both cities could share facilities including an opera house and several schools etc Hearings on this issue took place over many weeks with no clear consensus emerging until February 4th when committee member George Stephenson offered to resign his position if deliberations resulted in Illini moving east instead cf Bloomington Finally on March 20th 1862 selectmen unanimously voted 3-0 for relocation back towards Springfield
