Navy gift history in Upper Arlington, Ohio goes back to the early 1800s. The first ship to dock at Lower Arlington was the USS Constitution on November 1, 1797. In 1830, the USS Perry arrived and spent four winters in Upper Arlington. In 1862, the USS Buchanan visited Upper Arlington for a fortnight and donated land for a military fortification. The USS Constitution returned to port in 1868 after spending two winters visiting other Navy ships in Hampton Roads. The USS Perry also visited Upper Arlington twice before she decommissioned in 1903. In 1911, the USS Greer came into service and spend two winters at Lower Arlington before being stationed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. From 1922 until 1945, she was based at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where she served as flagship of the 5th Fleet during World War II. After World War II ended, theGreer returned to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where she served as Flagship of Destroyer Squadron 6 from 1951-1960 and again from 1968-1976 when she decommissioned due to budget cuts. She was reactivated on December 1st 1978 and recommissioned with new name but didn’t arrive at her new home until May 15th 1981 when she anchored off San Diego Harbor during Blue Water Week celebrations celebrating Northern California’s incorporation into the United States of America
Upper Arlington is a small town in central Ohio, United States. The population was 8,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Upper Arlington is located on the west bank of the Olentangy River, opposite Dayton and just east of I-75 exit 12. The first settler in what became Upper Arlington was Captain John Smith who built a cabin in 1795. In 1814, General James K. Polk moved his headquarters from New Orleans to what would become Lower Arlington after defeating Napoleonic forces during the War of 1812. General James K. Polk also founded an agricultural college there in 1826 which became The University of Cincinnati in 1881 when it merged with three other colleges to form the University of Cincinnati system. In 1870, Northern Ireland's first Protestant parish (Guildstown) was established in Upper Arlington by Reverend John Milligan and Dr. Jno Magee outside present day Little Elm neighborhood on land that now borders Ulysses S Grant Drive and North High School; this parish continues as one segment of Greater Upper Arlington today with Church Street running parallel to Milligan Boulevard between Grafton Avenue and Old Church Road/State Route 4603N/Highway 762W becoming its main artery . In 1901, Lower Arlington replaced its original name (Dundee) when it became a part of the newly formed city of Cincinnati through annexation by that city; Dundee remained as its official name until 1922 when it changed again to Upper Arlington after being made an incorporated village within Cincinnati’s limits . A post office called Dundee has been located at this address since 1800 . Upper Arlington also saw significant growth following World War II as industries like shipbuilding boomed due to America's role in nuclear warfare; however, industrial prosperity ended after the fall of communism around 1990 . Today, Upper Arlington remains largely residential with some light commercial activity taking place on Dundee Road near South Lebanon Elementary School although most businesses have closed or moved away since then .

In 1801, the navy was re-established as the United States Naval Forces in Puerto Rico, effective 1 July 1801. On 10 December 1898, during the Spanish–American War, Admiral Dewey destroyed the Spanish fleet at Manila Bay by defeating its Rear Admiral Manuel de la Hoz in a night action. The naval victory marked an important milestone in American naval history and helped to consolidate U.S. power in Asia and make America stronger militarily for future conflicts. Since its inception, the USN has played an important role in world affairs by providing maritime security, conducting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, conducting air warfare, and playing a leading role in amphibious landings and sea fights throughout history. Today’s USN is composed of over 330 vessels with a collection of more than 100 aircraft Carrier Strike Groups (CSG), Amphibious Forces (AFG), Expeditionary Force Units (EFU), Special Operations Command (SOF) units, Warrior Squadronrons/Air Wingrons/Eagle Squadrons/Hawk Squadrons/ Joint Task Force Support elements; each with their own unique capabilities and traditions that set them apart from their counterparts on other military services. The USS Constitution Museum is open every day except Monday from 9am-5pm at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on Virginia Beach’s Eastern Shore where you can explore ship artifacts dating back to 1775 including two cannon used during the Revolutionary War! Admission is free but parking is required lot E4 or lot 5 off I-95 exit 219B just north of Norfolk's town center!

Upper Arlington is a town in Clark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,859 at the 2010 census. Upper Arlington is part of the Akron–Canton–Marietta Metropolitan Statistical Area. It was named after George Washington's estate and town on the Monongahela River in West Virginia. The first settler in Upper Arlington was John Cranch, who arrived in 1795. George Washington's estate lay just east of present-day Upper Arlington on the Monongahela River. A ferry across the river connected George Washington's piece of land with what is now Lower Arlington and Park Heights to the west and Barefoot Bay to the east. In 1814, when Cleveland became an independent city, Upper Arlington became part of Cleveland as well. In 1825, following a referendum vote by citizens, Lower Arlington became its own incorporated village (though it continued to be part of Cleveland). By 1830, most of what is now Lower Arlington had been annexed into Upper Arlington proper; however, much remains distinguishable between these two villages today including their respective ZIP Codes (1937: 44705 for Upper Arlington and 44601 forLower Arlington). In 1868-69 Timothy Luckenbaugh built a dam across Monongahela River which created Lake Erie while enlarging water storage on his farm downstream at Mill Creek near present-day Northgate Mall; this project served as one impetus for creating upperARlington Township which began voting on incorporation in 1965 from portions of Park Heights and Barefoot Bay townships before finally becoming an official township in 1978 via annexation from parts of Euclid Township also located within Greater Akron limits. At that time there were only 3 inhabitants living in Borough limits other than central business district employees so annexation resulted primarily due to economic opportunities offered by larger municipality boundaries but with some effort has been made to remain open/residential aspect with limited developmentFocus has increasingly shifted towards service sector economy although many residents commute into larger metropolitan area Education & health care are major employers local government services have become more pronounced following consolidation efforts The current mayor & board members are: Clarence Dukes (President), Darrell Green (Vice President), Jeffery Hentges (Mayor pro tempore), Teresa Tomei (Atty., General Counsel)
