The Ohio National Guard was created in 1907 as the result of a merger of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry and the State Militia. The original organization consisted of only 400 men and was posted at various locations around the state. By 1912, however, it had grown to over 12,000 soldiers. In 1917, Congress passed a law authorizing the national guard to be used for emergency purposes during World War I. The first national guard troops were deployed in October 1917 and arrived in Cleveland to help with the war effort. Over 1,500 soldiers served in Upper Arlington alone during World War I; many of these men later became part of the U.S. Marine Corps or Army Air Force. After World War I ended, the Ohio National Guard remained inactive until May 1937 when it was reactivated under General George Custer’s command as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal program designed to protect America’s borders from potential enemies such as Nazi Germany and Japan. The guard enjoyed some success during this time but eventually disbanded after 1945 due to budget cuts and other issues at home. In 1980, an actocating committee was formed by then-Governor Ted Strickland to determine what role the Ohio National Guard could play in Ohio’s future growth story. After extensive research, including interviews with both military professionals and members of civil society, a report emerged that identified several needs that needed to be addressed ifOhio wanted its own version of NATO or any new international organizations that could impact its economy or sovereignty: * stronger leadership capabilities through an officer corps with advanced training * developmentally disabled individuals should have access to Aide de Camp (ADC) status so they can receive support services* better coordination between local police departments and the NG * identification/establishment/maintaining relationships with other state militaries
There is no doubt that the national guard gift has become a popular tradition in many countries. The reason for this popularity is simple - the national guard are an important part of any country's security and stability. They provide a source of backup if necessary, and they can play an important role in providing support to law enforcement and other local services. The national guard gift has traditionally been a selection of military-style items, such as uniforms, rifles and shotguns. The Ohio National Guard was organized on November 8, 1795. The first unit to be mobilized for military service was the 1st Battalion of the 3rd Regiment of Infantry. In 1811, the 2nd Regiment of Infantry and the 3rd Regiment were both raised and soon after, the 4th Regiment of Infantry also became activated. At that time, Ohio had only a small town militia and there was not enough money or soldiers to raise a full national guard regiment. However, on February 14, 1815, Ohio's governor John Morton recommended that the General Assembly establish an infantry regiment with a strength of one hundred men each. This recommendation was ratified by the General Assembly on March 5th and on April 6th an act authorizing formation of such regiment became law. On May 10th Congress passed another act authorizing organization of two regiments--the 1st (The DeKalb County Rifle) and 2nd (The Clinton County Rifle)--and these units were ordered brigaded into Service on June 15th under Major-General David Halliday commanding them respectively at Camp Chase in Clinton County and Fort Necessity in Lorain County. After deployment at Fort Necessity it seems as though they did not reach their authorized strength until September 1800 when they probably numbered about one hundred men each but this is impossible to say for sure since no records remain documenting their actual deployment or numbers. In 1825 three more rifle regiments were raised; The Dayton Volunteer Cavalry ( formed December 12), The Lebanon Volunteer Cavalry (formed January 26) and finally The Ottawa Volunteers (formed February 14). It should be noted that all these units were never deployed outside of Upper Arlington because by then there had been enough progress made in organizing a national guard from scratch statewide! On July 9th 1870 an actauthorized reactivation of the 3rd Brigade which had been inactive for six years due to various causes including secessionist activity within Ohio!. On October 24th 1870 another actauthorized organization of two additional brigades--the 4th Brigade which would become known as brigade headquarters troops and the 5th Brigade which would become known as artillery troops! These brigades never materialized so again we must assume that these divisions never reached their authorized strengths! Upper Arlington, Ohio is located in the southwest area of the United States. The city was founded in 1814 by George Washington and his family. After prospering during the late 1800s and early 1900s, Upper Arlington experienced a period of decline in the 1920s. However, it has since regained its former prosperity and today is one of the most vibrant communities in Northwest Ohio. The city was named for George Washington because he owned land near where Upper Arlington now stands. George Washington also resided on what is now called Park Avenue in Upper Arlington. This street later became known as President Street after James K. Polk was elected President in 1844. In 1814, several families from Lancaster County decided to establish a town in what is now Lower Arlington Township because they saw an opportunity to improve their lot by moving westward into new territory that had been opened up by the War of 1812. On July 20, 1814, representatives from four towns met at Paint Branch Creek to approve the plat for Upper Arlington Township which included parts of Lancaster County as well as much of Medina County including present-day Cincinnati (then part of Fayette County). George Washington and his family were among those who founded Upper Arlington when it first appeared on paper on November 5, 1814. At first they only lived on hand-me-downs from other members of their household since they could not afford to build themselves a home until sometime after their arrival in western Ohio. In fact, many people thought that George Washington might never actually set foot inside our current boundaries – he had already left for Mount Vernon earlier that year! But soon enough he started making visits back east and helping out with various tasks around Mount Vernon while others built houses and stores nearby on Vineyard Avenue between Cherry Hill Road and First National Bank Square (later renamed Spring Garden Boulevard). In fact, within two years or so of his arrival there were already more than 100 residents living in what would become Upper Arlington proper – mostly farmers who grew crops or raised livestock such as pigs or horses for local markets (although there were also some merchants nearby). And thanks to this influx of people & businesses – especially during the 1830s when construction began on what would eventually become downtown – things quickly picked up steam! It wasn’t until after John Quincy Adams was elected President that things really heated up though; traffic congestion worsened due to growing numbers OF passengers using Pittsburgh’s transportation system rather then taking public transportation like before! So finally General Harrison approved plans for miles & miles worth of railroad tracks through our town just northwest OF downtown OHIO!!!!! OUCH…. But all good things come to an end….. By 1840 UPPER ARLINGTON WAS FULLY STANDING!!! Some say even before then growth had been picking up gradually but no one knows for sure since records get lost over time 😉 Just think about how much nicer it must have looked today if we still had development going on instead OF all this empty space😕 But let’s not forget about THE FOUNDATION & HOW THAT REALLY BEGAN IT ALL………….. Now THAT’S A GOOD STATEMENT RIGHT THERE 😜 So needless to sayrification hasn’t exactly helped either!) aka ‘The Day The City CaughtOnFire’ hahaahaha… . kinda funny actually 🙂 . Anyway backtracking a bit here…. One thing you can be sure about: no matter how busy upper arlington may have felt during its earliest days (& there weren’t any big events happening anywhere near us very often unfortunately), THE PEOPLE HERE ALWAYS SUPPORTED ONE ANOTHER IN EVERY WAY imaginable…… EVER REMEMBER? THEY WERE JUST FRICKIN HARD WORKERSusually doing whatever needed doing EVEN IF IT DIDN’T MEAN WE WOULD GET MUCH OUT OF THEIR TIME !!!!! Plus being pioneers isn’t always easy sometimes LOL…..like anyone ever said “IF YOU CAN DO IT FACE DOWN THEN ANYONE CAN DO IT"! hahahahaa

The National Guard was created on September 17, 1792 as a response to the Boston Tea Party. The first National Guard regiment was raised in New York City.
Upper Arlington is a town in Holmes County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,865 at the 2010 census. Upper Arlington is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. It has been a separate incorporated village since 1898. The first settler in what is now Upper Arlington was John Smeaton, who arrived in 1798 and built his home on the current site of the Village Hall building. In 1812 Ohio statehood was granted to Ohio and Upper Arlington became part of Harrison Township under that state's jurisdiction. In 1824 Harrison Township divided into two parts which remain separated today: Upper Arlington and Parkersburg Township. In 1827 Parkersburg Township annexed Lower Arlington, making it a full township with its own government. The first school in what is now Upper Arlington was established in 1828 by Reverend Drury as an academy for girls located on High Street between present day West Market Street and Sycamore Road (now State Route 522). From this school until 1865 there were no public schools within what are now Upper Arlington limits; only private academies continued to operate until they were abolished by law in 1965. In 1898 upper Arlington residents voted to secede from Harrison Township due to dissatisfaction with their municipal government; this vote led to the incorporation of Upper Arlington as a separate village four years later on July 1st, 1898. The village had one main commercial artery - High Street - but also developed many smaller streets throughout its boundaries including Elmira Road (now State Route 322), Morris Avenue (now US 422), Waverly Avenue (now SR 522), etc., as well as landside businesses such as grocery stores and newsstands along High Street itself - all while maintaining tight community control over all aspects of local life through an elected board of trustees with veto power over major decisions made by the mayor/mayoralty team-up or simply "the people." On October 15th 1978 Hurricane Ike caused extensive damage to much of central Ohio including both Lower Arlington and Upper Arlington; however despite significant losses ($1 million) insurance reimbursement helped mostly rebuild these towns quickly using innovative planning techniques pioneered by planner Don Morse which have served Middle America well ever since! In recent years there has been renewed interest in restoring some aspects of pre-Katrina history within upper arlington like reopening former millinery store fronts along Dearborn Street known locally as "The Ladies' Mile" restored storefronts dating back to 1902 have also reopened among other efforts likeLower Arlington's return To Historic District nomination received earlier this year making it eligible for designation

The area was first settled by Native Americans in the 17th century. In 1814, Allen County was created from parts of Lucas and Henry counties. Upper Arlington became part of Delaware County in 1922.
