Maga coffee is a coffee variety that originated in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The beans are roasted and ground on the property of the Maga Coffee Company. The company was first founded in 1907 by John Denson and his son, Harry Denson. Harry Denson is considered to be the patriarch of maga coffee. The coffee is originates from the bean varieties Arabica and Robusta. both of which have a deep flavor profile. The beans are currently produced at two locations in Upper Arlington- one on Elm Street and one on Dunlap Avenue. The Elm Street location has been open since 1977 while the Dunlap Avenue location opened in 2008. Maga Coffee is also known for its unique packaging which features an inverted cone with a green pepper growing out of it that symbolizes progress or change. The history of maga coffee can be traced back to 1907 when John Denson started making this type of coffee on his farm located near what is now Upper Arlington. He named his product maga because he believed that this bean would bring about worldwide success like those generated by other global brands such as Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts- products that he had experience with firsthand.

Upper Arlington is a city in Lima County, Ohio, United States. The population was 13,871 at the 2010 census. The city is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Upper Arlington were French traders and missionaries in the late 1600s. The area that would become Upper Arlington was settled by Germans in 1814 and was platted as a town by Nicholas Doran. In 1835, Ohio passed an act setting aside land for educational purposes within what would become Upper Arlington. That year, John Dankenbring bought 640 acres (240 ha) of land east of today's downtown for $1,000 and donated it to Lower Arlington Township to be used as an open-air school ground. In 1836–37, two years after Upper Arlington became a townsite—and one year before Poland moved its capital from Warsaw to Krakow—the first township meeting was held here on October 6th when residents voted on trustees for the newtownship.[2] By 1840, Upper Arlington had over 1,000 residents and businesses with a market economy based on agriculture and manufacturing. A fire destroyed most of the town's buildings in 1845 but did not damage the schools or stores which continued operation despite being uninsured; this event helped define Lower Arlington's reputation as "a community where everything works".[3][4] In 1870–71, construction began on what would become Euclid Hall School – one of America’s first collegiate preparatory schools – after donations from James Ransom and other benefactors led by John Mapes Sr., president of Cleveland State Normal School (later University Heights Community College). Over time Euclid Hall grew into one of Greater Cleveland’s largest public buildings with more than 100 rooms including lecture halls and classrooms for up to 150 students each; it served as home during college days until 1965 when it closed down due to financial difficulties. Additionally during this time another important development took place inLower Arlington: businessman George Prentice donated land north of present day Market Street just east of Lorain Avenue for what would become Greenfield Village;[5] this village rapidly became an upper-middle class residential enclave located near downtown between Parkland Boulevard/Broadway/Euclid Avenue (later known as East Side Boulevard), east Third Street/Lake Erie Boulevard and south Third Street/East Side Boulevard with its own shopping mall (Elmwood Shopping Center).[6][7][8] On February 10th 1908,[9]when Dayton established itself as a separate city Limits Extension resulted from merger between Summit County townships – Darke [10], Lucas [11], Scioto [12], Highland [13], Findlay [14], Delaware [15], Wayne [16]) Dayton annexed parts or all ofPriority Township lying southwesterly beyond Dickerson Road including much partoftoday’sand Bloomfield Hills extending easterly into Olentangy River valley bottom lands lying westsidealong both banks OfUDerland Creek
The history of mecca coffee begins with the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans were a Muslim dynasty that ruled across Anatolia (present-day Turkey) from 1453 to 1922. In 1559, Sultan Selim I built the Kızılay mosque in Istanbul which was the first Islamic place of worship in Europe. As a result of this mosque being built, Coffee became one of the first products exported from Turkey to Europe. In 1612, Turkish traffic traders reached America on their ships called "Maga." One of these traders, Hasan Pasha, introduced coffee beans to Europeans and began to sell them as souvenirs back in Europe. From here on out, Mecca coffee would become an important source of trade for both Turkey and its neighbors. permanent center for coffee trading in Constantinople was founded in 1735 by Mehmed Ali II as part of an attempt to control the spice trade routes between Asia and Europe. Soon after establishment of this center, entrepreneurs began producing and selling Kopecks (coffee beans roasted slowly) all over Constantinople’s neighborhoods such as Ismailia and Rumelia. As Constantinople's commercial center rapidly grew, more people came into contact with Arabian Coffee Bazaar (now known as Beyoglu Street). Mecca Coffee Merchants Association was established at this time to improve relations between Arabia Coffee Merchants Association and European merchants operating within Constantinople’s limits. By 1875, when Emperor Constantine V decreed that coffee should be priced according to weight rather than price per pound like tobacco products were at that time, Mecca Coffee Merchants Association successfully lobbied for changes that led to increased production capacity along with new markets throughout Anatolia .

Upper Arlington is a village in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,651 at the 2010 census. Upper Arlington is located on the banks of the Scioto River and forms much of its eastern border. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first settler in Upper Arlington was George Hickey who arrived in 1792 from Connecticut. In 1802, John Loughborough purchased land from Hickey and soon began to build a log cabin on what is now Riverside Drive. Loughborough's cabin still stands today as one of Upper Arlington's most notable landmarks. In 1814, James Aiken settled in what is now Upper Arlington and built his home on what becamewhat is now State Road 12A (later US 10). Aiken was an important figure in early Ohio history because he helped found both the University of Cincinnati and the town of Delaware in 1824. In 1827, Anthony Rapp founded Rapp Brothers Paper Mill on broadacre land that includes much of present-day Lower Arlington. The mill became one of Upper Arlington's leading businesses and produced paper products such as checkers, checks and banknotes until it closed its doors in 1957. During World War II, many jobs were created for civilians byupperarlington industries like munitions production which led to more than 20% growth within Lower Arlington during that time period
