Twinsburg, Ohio is a town of about 30,000 people in the Tuscarawas County region of central Ohio. The area now known as Twinsburg was first settled by the Seneca Indians in the 17th century. In 1810, it became part of the Northwest Territory and in 1821, it became part of the United States. In 1836, Twinsburg was made a city and it remained so until its annexation by Dayton in 1907. The First National Bank of Twinsburg was founded in 1865 and remains one of the town's most important institutions. It merged with The Citizens National bank on December 15, 1988. Other major businesses include A&P supermarket (founded in 1947), Waffle House (founded in 1951), AutoZone (founded in 1959), Jiffy Lube ( founded 1939) and Sears Roebuck & Co.'s twin department stores at 3rd Avenue and State Street (opened November 15, 1911). Two transportation systems have been key to Twinburgh's economy: roadways that connect it to Dayton across I-71/I-77 and waterways that provide access to Lake Erie for boating, fishing and swimming. two other significant industries are health care services provided by Mercy Health Partners healthcare system located within close proximity to downtown Twinburg while larger concentrations are found within miles around both shopping malls - Mohawk Mall Corporate Center off Medina Road south side while reno mall located east side just north of I-271 exit 313

Twinburg is a city in Ashland County, Ohio, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton, OH-KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first place to be settled in what is now Twinburg was called "Norton" after Major General Nathanael Norton who arrived in 1795 and surveyed the area for a land grant that would become Ashland County. He named his settlement after himself and his son John Norton (1768-1847). The first post office in Twinburg was established on December 3, 1811, by Captain Nathaniel Barnes with the name of "Norton". The first store in town was built about 1830 by Jno. Sperry and later became known as the Sperry Store which still stands today. In 1828, James Ketchum opened a grocery store on Main Street near High School where he still operates today as Ketchum's Grocery & Bakery. In 1861 when theAshland County Courthouse moved from Norton to downtown Twinburg, Ketchum donated land across from High School for its construction which included a schoolhouse and gymnasium also used to house the county court house until it burned down in 1907. A total of 19 businesses were licensed to operate within twinburg limits by 1860 including six groceries stores; four druggists; one optometrist; one dry goods store; two blacksmiths; one harness shop; one teacher's academy; one Masonic Lodge No. 2 (founded 1824); three churches (Anglican: First Baptist Church - original building built c 1830), Methodist Episcopal church (built c 1840), Greek Orthodox Church (added 1905) All but two of these licenses were sold or revoked between 1860 and 1870 due to economic conditions such as competition from larger cities or because of changes in ownership or demographics within those businesses . One exception was the optometrist’s license which continued operation until 1906 when it passed into private ownership . By 1870 there were only three stores open: two taverns and one wagonmaker’s shop operated by James Aiken . However, this period saw an increase in business due primarily to new transportation methods such as railroads having been developed throughout central Ohio during this time period

Twinburg was founded in 1836 by Ohio State Senator James Fenton and his wife, Lucy. The town was named for the two brothers who had donated land to the town. In 1870, the Fenton family sold their interest in Twinburg to J.P. Morgan & Co., which renamed it West Virginia City. After being merged into the Cleveland metropolitan area, Twinburg lost its status as a city in 1925 and became part of the new city of Twinsburg. It rejoined the city of Twinsburg on January 1, 1937. In 1951, twins Donald and Cynthia Trump were born at home in Twinburg after their parents’ separation. They were raised by their mother and father until they reached age eighteen; then they went into state custody and were raised by Mrs. Trump until they turned eighteen themselves on May 15th 1959 joint-heir to their father’s estate (they had been living with Mrs. Trump since age six). On that date Donald became an American citizen and Cynthia became a Polish citizen as well as a United States national; thus, they are both considered twins under U.S law even though only one is officially counted for each parent at birth (Donald actually has two sets of chromosomes). They have always stated that they are only one half twin because one set of chromosome from their father does not match up with either set from theirs (the other set is mitochondrial DNA - see below for more about this).
