This donation helped support Trotwood’sOperation Smile – providing emotional support to children with congenital heart abnormalities. The plane is still used today for various purposes such as patrollingTrotwood’s streets and providing services to local schools. In 2007, Trotwood welcomed its second military helicopter – this time it was a Boeing 737NG! This gift was put to use to provide services such as delivering food items to local homes, assisting with clean up after natural disasters, and even being used as a training platform for police officers. In 2009, Trotwood received their third military helicopter – this time it was an Airbus A330! This gift was put to use for various purposes such as transporting troops and supplies throughout Iraq and Afghanistan, supporting law enforcement activities in the area, and even being used in conjunction with NASA during research projects. In 2013, Trottwood became the newest city in Ohio to receive an F-15 Eagle fighter jet! This gift was put into use by the Ohio Air National Guard at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton for homeland security patrols around Ontario County. Additionally, on September 20th of that yearTrotwoodschool district received their very own F-15Eagle Jetfighter aircraft from Columbus Air Force Base! The airplane is currently being used as a charter school service provider across central Ohio. The United States Air Force gifted Trotwood, Ohio with an airfield in the early 1940s. The airfield was named after Major General Curtis E. LeMay, who commanded the AmericanAAF at that time.
Trotwood is a small town in the eastern part of Ohio, United States. It is located on the Scioto River and it has a population of about 4,500 people. The area that makes up Trotwood was first settled by European settlers in the early 1800s. In 1819, General George Washington and his army passed through this area on their way to battle against British forces at Monmouth Junction. This event is considered to be the beginning of Trotwood’s history. The town was incorporated in 1837, although its name comes from an earlier settlement called Totowa which was located southwest of Trotwood. Today, Trotwood is known primarily for its annual summertime festival which takes place over two days in late July or early August.

Trotwood was a small community located in the northwestern corner of Ohio, about twenty miles south of Youngstown and thirty-six miles north of Cleveland. It was named for George Trotwood, a landowner and political figure who had played an important role in early western Ohio settlement. Trotwood developed chiefly as a agriculture center, with large acreage devoted to growing corn, wheat, oats, and other grains. In the 1860s it became an important transportation hub on the Great Lakes region, serving as a point of entry for goods passing through the area by canal and rail. The town declined during the 1870s and 1880s due topopulation loss and economic decline. However, it experienced some resurgence during the 1890s when it became one of several localities that helped create the Greater Cleveland area. It has since been largely abandoned except for occasional housing developments.
In 1811, Trotwood was first settled by pioneers. The town was named for the large tree on the property which served as a landmark. The pioneer community consisted of about fifty residents who mostly lived near the river and irrigated their crops with water brought down from the hills. By 1850, Trotwood had grown to over two hundred residents and had become a thriving agricultural center. In 1875, Trotwood became part of Lucas County and transitioned into a city.
