In Trenton, Ohio, the United States Air Force has been providing service since 1947. The USAF’s 230th Fighter Wing is responsible for operations in the Cleveland-Akron area and its counterparts at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton are responsible for training military members of other nations as well. The gift of an airplane is a classic airforce tradition that dates back to World War II. In 1945, the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) brought over two Boeing B-24 Liberator bombers from Japan in order to provide aerial support during the Battle of Okinawa. In 1949, the USAF acquired its first jet aircraft when it purchased a Lockheed F-104 Starfighter from General Motors Aircraft Corporation. Since then, the USAF has acquired numerous types of airplanes and helicopters including the A-10 Thunderbolt II groundattack plane, KC-135 Stratotanker tanker planes and AC-130 Spectre gunship helicopters. Today, there are more than 350 military jets and helicopters available to be used by USAF units across all branches of service. Trenton is a small town in the heart of Ohio, about an hour and a half drive from Columbus. It's known for itsaunted ZIP code - 46822 - and for the Trenton School District, which has been around since 1892. The community is also home to the largest employer in Trenton - FirstEnergy - and to many local businesses that have helped make the town one of central Ohio's most vibrant centers. The history of Trenton begins with three brothers who founded the village of Trenton in 1811. They were farmers who grew corn, wheat, beans, potatoes and other crops on their family farmstead. The village gradually became more important as a transportation hub due to its location at the crossroads of two major roadways: State Route 422 (now I-70) and US Route 19 (now I-675). In 1907, when Ohio passed its first statewide prohibition law, villagers voted to begin selling intoxicating liquor within their borders. This decision set off a series of social strife that continues to this day. Despite this controversy, Taj Gibson was elected mayor in 1915 and 1919; Frank Jernigan served as secretary of state from 1922 until his death in 1959; Everett Dirksen served as United States Senator from Illinois from 1953 until his death in 1978; and Leroy Jenkins was elected president pro tempore of the United States Senate in 1974 before being unseated by Gerald Ford four years later. In 1984, Trenton resident Al Gore won running mate Michael Dukakis’s seat on the Democratic National Committee; he would serve as U.S. President until 1992. In recent years, Trenton has seen some growth thanks to new development initiatives led by Mayor Dowell Loggainshire and FirstEnergy employees like Donny Isbell Jr., who chairs FirstEnergy's board of directors. The community has also made progress through its partnerships with regional organizations such asthe Mahoning Valley Development Authority (MVDA), which helps promote job potential within local businesses;the Greater Dayton Chamber of Commerce;andthe Greater Cincinnati Business Journal Cooperative Funders Programmes Partnership Committee which provides financial support for business programs across metropolitan areas across both counties . The growth that has taken place in Trenton over recent decades has brought about increased taxes for residents – including increases in property tax rates – while also creating opportunities for new businesses to come into operation or be reborn after being closed down or abandoned during difficult times past . Although there are still some challenges facing the community – such as increasing crime rates – overall it seems to be doing well given all that it've gone through over time

The first settler in Trenton was James Caldwell in 1796. It was incorporated as a village on March 15, 1811 and became a city on July 1, 1837. In 1916 Trenton merged with Euclid to form the new city of Euclid–Trenton. On February 27, 1920 Trenton lost its charter as a City when it merged with Mansfield to become Mansfield–Euclid Township. On December 14 of that year it lost its charter as an Township when it merged with Union Township to become Union Township–Trenton.
