The United States Air Force (USAF) is one of the most powerful airforces in the world. With over 128,000 active duty members and more than 300,000 civilian contractors, the USAF is second only to Russia in terms of size. The USAF has been a part of American society for over 60 years and has a proud history that goes back to World War I. In 1917, President Woodrow Wilson announced an official resolution calling for America’s entry into World War I. The USAAF was formed on August 4th, 1917 as a result of this resolution. On November 8th, 1918 Congress passed an act creating the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). America's first space program began with the launching of the Mercury spacecraft on July 20th, 1969. The USAF was originally responsible for all military space activities until 1980 when NASA assumed this responsibility. Since its inception, the USAF has played a significant role in many aspects of American life including science fiction movies like Star Wars and Spaceballs; popular culture such as Reno 911!;and international diplomacy such as Operation Desert Storm in 1990.

In the early 1920s, American Airlines began flying to Toledo. The airline was founded by two businessmen, John L. Lewis and Harry K. Deutchman. The first plane to arrive in Toledo was a Boeing 727 flown by American Airlines Corporation vice president Donald W. Kerr on November 18, 1923. On May 10, 1926, Toledo's first air show was held at the city hall location which later became the Municipal Airpark and now known as Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Toledo. On October 2-3 of that year, American Airlines established an office in what is now the Gateway Center building on West Grand Boulevard in Toledo. The company headquarters were moved from Chicago to Toledo in 1928 when it merged with National Airways of America (later United Airlines). In 1933 American merged with other airlines including Eastern Air Lines (later US Airways) creating one of the largest commercial airlines operating out of North America at the time. American served as both parent and subsidiary carrier for United for many years before merging with Continental Airlines in 1996
Toledo, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Lucas County. The population was 753,895 as of Census 2016. Toledo is the largest city in southwestern Ohio and one of its three-cities-in-a-state designation. The second largest city in southeastern Ohio, it is also a part of the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area and has a population exceeding 1 million people as well as a growing economy based on manufacturing, education, health care, services, food production and tourism. Toledo's nickname is "The City of Science." It was founded by Christopher Columbus on October 12, 1796 as Ventry Township on what is now the southern edge of downtown Toledo. In 1824 it became part of the newly created Hardin County when it was split from Mercer County. The United States Air Force has a rich history of gifting. Gifts have been given from the military to civilians, from servicemen and women to their families. In recent years, airforce gift history has seen an increase in donations from members of the public. The USAF History Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado hosts a display called "Gift Giving in the USAF." This exhibit features gifts dating back to World War II and includes items such as uniforms, weapons, and aircraft. It also features photos of members of the military giving presents to civilians. In 2013, the USAF donated a Boeing 747-400 airplane to be used by the Airlift Command. This was the first time that an air force plane had been given out as a gift. The plane is being used for humanitarian aid missions in Africa and Asia. In 2016, an American Airlines Airbus A330 took part in Operation Blue Moon which was designed to support USAID's relief efforts during Hurricane Matthew's aftermath. The airline donated five tons of supplies and fuel for use by relief workers. One of the most recent examples of air force gift history is when General Electric donated two C-47 GlobemastersModels 1-690008 and 1-69910 to be used by Special Operations Command (SOCOM). These planes are known as Black Hawks because they are black with white lettering on them referencing special operations missions that can take place inside enemy territory. These planes will be used for surveillance and other purposes during future wars in order to protect America's interests abroad!

Toledo is a city located in central Ohio, with a population of over 150,000. The city was founded in 1796 by the brothers Solomon and Jonathan Toledo. The first mayor of Toledo was John Adams. The area that now makes up Toledo was gradually settled by Native Americans before becoming part of the British Empire during the late 18th century. In 1801, the United States acquired land east of the Allegheny Mountains from Great Britain in what is now Pittsburgh. President James K. Polk decided to move westward and explore new territory, which included parts of present-day Toledo and other towns in what is now Muskegon County. On November 2, 1804, President Polk signed an executive order creating the nation's original territorial capital, Washington D.C., based on his findings during his exploration tour through West Virginia and Pennsylvania that established that Baltimore should be America's new national capital. The president also ordered Congress to appropriate $10,000 forints (now U .S.$100) to be used for purchasing land at Toledo's south end where today's downtown stands (the first corner stone was laid on July 3rd). The city quickly grew as a transportation hub connectingwestward into Michigan Territory and northward into Canada via the Port Huron Canal across Lake Erie; as well as becoming home to major government buildings such as Capitol Hill and White House Hill although only one building – War Department Building – still remains standing today (the building has been converted into residential units). This growth came about due to several factors: 1) cheap land available nearby due to Ezra Stiles' donation of over 160 acres (65 hectares) near downtown in 1824; 2) large amounts of business traffic coming from Clinton Street down Market Street because it bisected Fort Dearborn; 3) easy access by canalboat or railroad until dirt roads were built along both sides of the river between 1800 and 1840; 4) increasing numbers of people commuting out to jobs in cities such as Detroit or Cincinnati; 5) increasing number of families moving out to farmsteads around town beginning in the mid-19th century In 1907–08 when Mayor George Wirtz became mayor after serving two terms as City Treasurer under then-mayor Augustus Stedman, he began working on developing downtown into a modern center with baseball diamonds, an ice rink, movie theaters and other amenities typical for larger urban centers but never achieved fruition due largely to financial difficulties caused by prohibitionism during Wirtz's time as mayor. Eventually redevelopment took hold with some buildings being preserved while others were demolished including much older commercial buildings along Market Street which had been turned into apartment blocks following World War II demand for housing adjacentto military bases throughout Ohio Valley region

Toledo became a major transportation hub for the area, and it soon became one of the most important cities in Ohio. In 1813, Toledo was named the capital of Ohio after President James K. Polk moved the United States government from Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. The city experienced rapid growth during the 19th century, becoming one of America's largest urban areas. During World War I, Toledo helped support American military efforts and played an important role in helping develop oil production in Michigan and Kentucky. After World War II, Toledo lost some of its economic significance but regained some footing as a cultural and educational center. In recent years, however, Toledo has seen significant decay throughout much of its history; it is currently considered one of America's most struggling cities with high levels of crime and poverty
