Tallmadge is a small town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati–Middletown–Wilmington, OH-KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Tallmadge was platted in 1814 by Nicholas Tallmadge, an Englishman who had immigrated to the area in 1802. The name means "tall trees" or "tall buildings." The first store in the community was built on Main Street in 1824 and became known as the "Old Store." In 1827, a post office called Tallmadge was established and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1957. In 1830, John Fenton purchased land east of present-day Tallmadge from Nicholas Tallmadge. He laid out a village named Fort Wayne on this land which he called Fort Wayne Heights. Fenton's village failed due to low population growth and he abandoned it in 1836. A group of businessmen led by Salmon Pomeroy formed a newVillage Company to promote development of what would become Tallmadge Village. They began construction on a schoolhouse and other public structures during 1840-1841; however, these projects were not completed because of financial difficulties caused by the Panic of 1837. After struggling through several more economic downturns during the 1840s and 1850s, Fort Wayne Heights finally achieved stability with its own government during 1860 when Solomon Haskell bought most of what remains today withinFort Wayne Heights limits from Pomeroy's organization. Haskell renamed his settlement Columbusville after his hometown of Columbus (USA). Unfortunately for Fort Wayne Heights residents situated just east along state Route 517 north from downtown Cincinnati proper (and near large concentrations of German immigrants), their homes were destroyed by fire starting around 1870 while they slept only minutes after the blaze started! The failure to quench Frederick Douglass' thirst for knowledge about American history likely saved Fort Wayne Heights from becoming another deserted German enclave – like Sayreville (New Jersey) years earlier – but such success could not be maintained as commercial opportunities dwindled outside Greater Cincinnati following railroads reaching that city beginning around 1850 secularized transportation patterns across America making prices for goods common goods instead items akin to spices now accessible at $2/pound/bag or less than one twentiethths retail price when fresh produce cost two dollars per pound/bag back then! So too did prices for almost all categories including housing begin surpassing wages available for many workers resulting primarily from increased competition among industrializing countries whose workers could buy better quality living space at much lower costs using Adjusted Prices Division methods rather than hand picking individual farmers’ crops year round etc.; thus creating conditions similar to those experienced today even though minority groups may have felt victimized since these practices continued unabated well into our 21st century! Despite this deterioration some entrepreneurs still managed to revive downtown businesses & services during latter part OF 20th century before Dayton moved into market leadership role; but again Toledo overtook Dayton job market lead sometime later causing significant social upheaval there

Tallmadge is an unincorporated community in Delaware County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,451 at the 2010 census. Tallmadge was laid out by a group of settlers led by David Denton in 1814. Tallmadge is located on the Scioto River north of Xenia. It lies between Xenia to the east and New Albany to the west. The original settler's name for the community was "Moses", but it was changed to " Tallmadge" after James Mosely Tallmadge donated land to its foundation trustees in 1821. A post office called Tallmadge has been in operation since 1824. The first store and gristmill on the site were built by Captain Ebenezer Caldwell in 1826; they were replaced by a mill which operated until 1902. There are also three churches - First Methodist Church (1827), Congregational Church of America (1830), and Presbyterian Church of America (1834). In 1840, tall madgeschool opened as a two-year academy under instruction from Professor John Sibley Rockwell II. It closed in 1865 because of lack of funding. In 1922, Mrs Ada Chapman founded St Mary's Catholic School which would become one of Delaware County's largest school systems with over 140 students enrolled at its peak during the 1930s and 1940s In 1924,tall madgeschool reopened as Delaware Valley Junior College with instruction from Professors Isaiah Bowman Howe and George Haggerty It closed again due to low enrollment around 1970 In 1984, Delaware Valley University becametall madgeschool’s successor when it merged with Union Theological Seminary known then as Union University–Ohio Falls Hispanic Studies Department formed within seminary with faculty members Drs Mario Sanchez-Perez and Eduardo Martinez de la Torre who had both previously served as associate professors atUnion Theological Seminary Spanish Language Department formed within seminary with faculty members Drs Manuel Gomez-Luna and Pascual Lopez-Fernandez who had both previously served as assistant professors at Union Theological Seminary) Finally there was a new building constructed on property where current State Farm Arena now stands that provided classes for students from throughout central Ohio including Toledo Heights & Morenci .
