In 1954, Mr. Smith passed away, but his son continued to run the store until his death in 1978. His son's successors ran the business for many years until it was sold to Armoral Trading Company in 1984. Armoral Trading Company was then merged with Brownells Incorporated in 1996 and renamed Brownells/Struthers Firearms Sales & Services LLC. The town of Struthers, Ohio is located in the extreme northern part of the state of Ohio. It is bordered by Canada on the north, east and south, while the Mentor River flows through its center. The population of Struthers was 3,898 as of the 2010 census. Struthers was founded by Nicholas Struther in 1819. He built a log cabin on his farmstead and named it after himself. The first school in Struthers was established in 1829 and served students from all over rural Ohio. In 1835, Nicholas Struther donated land to build a school campus that would serve both local children and students from neighboring towns and villages. The first building on the campus was constructed by Nicholas Struther and his wife Amelia. The school operated until 1943 when it closed due to World War II-related concerns. In 1942, struther started a small business which he continued until his death in 1957. His son John succeeded him as owner of struther's millinery store until 1987 when it was sold to Lorraine Millerrand who operated it until 2006 when it reverted back tostruther family control under new ownership. In 2007,STRUTHS opened its doors for non-profit use with a focus on providing educational opportunities for local children One notable feature of this community is its annual Festivals which are characterized by cultural events such as live music concerts and Fourth Of July fireworks displays
