Strongsville is a city in the Northern Ohio region of the United States. The population was 76,725 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in northern Ohio after Cleveland and is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that now makes up Strongsville was originally known as Northfield Township, land grants from British East India Companyatcher George Washington to his friend and neighbor John Adams were confirmed on February 8, 1792. The town site was selected by General James K. Polk in 1841 during his westward expansion through what is now northeastern Ohio as an Indian hunting ground for white settlers seeking access to new land east of the Cuyahoga River. In 1847, when America's first railroad arrived in northwestern Ohio, it reached Strongsville via a branch line running east from Cincinnati through strongsviling (now Lucas County). At this time many farmers began moving into Weaksville because of easy access to railroads and other development opportunities. In 1889 Strongsville became one of twenty-five towns chosen by President George H.W. Bush as sites for a military airbase within Air Force Base Akron – then part of Greater Cleveland – due to its strategic location near major naval installations along Lake Erie and with good proximity to major highways including Interstate 80 and Route 422 (the main commercial artery linking Cleveland with Toledo). The airbase remained operational until 1993 when it was sold off to private interests and closed down permanently; today only traces remain of the base itself - a small pond located just outside Strongsville's limits on Airport Rd., across from where I-80 crosses over from US 422

Strongsville is a small town in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. It is located on the former Muskegon River floodplain and was founded in 1836 by John Strong. The community was named for his father-in-law, Captain David Strong. The town had a population of about 1,500 people when it was incorporated as a village in 1871. It grew to more than 7,000 people by the early 2000s and has since shrunk again to around 5,000 residents today. The town's downtown area is one of the oldest in the country and contains many historical buildings dating back to before 1800. The Muskegon Heights Apartments were built in 1907 and are still standing; they are one of only two remaining apartment buildings from that time period in the United States with original brick walls and roofing. Other important landmarks include: Stroudsburg High School (now known as "Stroudsburg East", closed 1994), Youngstown State University–Muskegon Heights Campus (formerly "Ohio Northern" campus), FirstEnergy Stadium (now home to the Cleveland Browns) which hosted both the 2002 AFC Championship Game and 2015 NFL draft; as well as several smaller churches, businesses, museums/galleries, schools and other public institutions. The population of Strongsville decreased significantly after World War II due to migration into surrounding communities such as Warren Township or Warren Hills Township; however, it has slowly regained some levels of population over recent years due to births & deaths within the town itself rather than outside influences. As of 2010 there were 442 residents living in Strongsville proper while 612 residents lived adjacent villages or townships which surrounded strongsville including Warren Township & Warren Hills Township
