The Coast Guard has been in Strongsville, Ohio since 1851. The first Captain of the Coast Guard Station in Strongsville was George B. Ladd and his crew. In 1916, it was moved to its present location on the current site of the United States Naval Research Laboratory. In 1933,Captain James M. Hanna relieved Captain Ladd and started patrols out of his station. The patrol boat known as “Hanna’s Hole” served with distinction until 1953 when she was lost at sea while on a training exercise off Long Island New York. In 1978,Captain Lew Fenton took command of the Station and began construction on what would become known as “Fenton Tower” which is now home to both the Headquarters Unit for the Coast Guard District 10 (the Western OH area) and also 8 Storey House which houses offices for Squadron Five (the eastern OH area). Since then, many new technologies have been introduced into this vital sector including unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). In 2018, LtCdr John Jost became Commanding Officer after serving as Acting Commander from July 1-August 31, 2017 following Rear Admiral Michael O’Neill’s retirement effective September 1st, 2017; he had held that position since January 1st previous year. He succeeds Rear Admiral David Ahern who retired effective September 30th, 2016 after 25 years service with the CG.(1) Since then there have been numerous personnel changes with LtCdr John Jost taking overcommand from Commodore John Madden(2) during operations at Coco Solo Airport from December 17th-January 3rd 2019; Commodore Gary Wylie commanding officer during operations at Key West Florida from December 14th- January 8th 2020; Commodore Neil Riggs(3) takingcommand during operations at Yuma Proving Ground from February 12th-March 2nd 2021; Capt Jeffery Higginbotham succeeding Maj Danika Kowalska(4) on August 9th 2022 after her maternity leave ended; Commodore Gary Wylie returning to command prior to their departure for winter break on December 17th - January 3rd 2019 working alongside Capt Jeffery Higginbotham throughout.(5) As part of their preparations for Christmas season they staged a festive parade through town November 15th - 19th 2019.) Strongsville is a town in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 8,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton–Warren Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town has been owned by the Muskingum and Trumbull families for over eighty years. The Muskingum River forms most of the town's eastern boundary and flows southwest through it before emptying into Lake Erie. Strongsville is located on approximately seventy-five acres (28 hectares) of land north of the river and east of US Route 224. The first permanent settler in Strongsville was Nicholas Muskingum, who arrived in 1814 from Warren County, Pennsylvania. He founded a gristmill on what is now Mill Road and named his community after himself and his father-in-law, John Cranch Muskingum Sr., an early owner of a large tract of land in that county. In 1827, Timothy Pickering bought residue from Nicholas Muskingum for $1 million dollars which he used to build the first brick building in Strongsville – still standing today – as well as several other mills around the area. By 1830, strong industry had replaced agriculture as Whatcom County's primary economic base; milling became even more important than farming because it could produce high-quality flour at low cost using expensive water supplies available only near major cities like Cleveland or Toledo. As this new industry grew larger and better organized, so too did its social hierarchy: prominent men began to own mills while small farmers continued to work them day and night; children helped out their parents at mills until they reached age fifteen or sixteen; women managed households while working outside their homes; eventually all women within one mile (2 km) of any mill were employed as operatives directly or indirectly by their male employers; daughters also entered into employment when they turned eighteen or twenty-one years old if they were single mothers with children under six months old; young women generally worked at home during school hours while menfolk took care of business affairs outside the home evening and morning hours For close to two hundred years following its founding, strongsville served as both a center for trade and manufacturing operations within Whatcom County’s largest city limits: Cleveland (to the south), Canton (to the west),Akron (northwest),and Youngstown (south). Strongsville, Ohio is a small town in the heart of the United States. The population was 5,814 as of the 2010 census. The community was founded by four men who purchased a piece of land in 1825. It became an agricultural center due to its location on the Scioto River and its manyhorizontal farming operations. In 1911, Strongsville annexed neighboring town of Bedford and added 2,654 residents to its population. The area that makes up Strongsville today was originally part of Northwest Territory which included what is now Delaware County and much of Lucas County. On March 1, 1800, U.S. President George Washington appointed Samuel Slater to be the first mayor of Fort Wayne (now Evansville). After being elected three times without opposition from other citizens he resigned on December 3rd because he could not find any property for himself in Weakesville Township which made up most of his original territory. He returned to Fort Wayne on January 10th 1800 and reported that there were no vacant lots or buildings in Weakesville Township so he decided to stay and continue governing Fort Wayne until it became a municipality on May 4th 1802 when it merged with Lake Erie township to form Stroudsburg Township . In 1811-12 two men from Cleveland bought 640 acres east of weaksville near what is now Winchester for $10 per acre ($2/acre) after surveys were completed for a new village site at this location but never built anything because they lacked support from either side in Congress! They named their new village Strongsville after Sir John Auchinleck – British military governor general during the American Revolution who had also been given land near Cleveland where he established a thriving colony called Easton! When Ohio became a state in 1815, Strongsville's status as an agricultural center continued because it lay within the newly created Toledo district! That same year strongsVILLE annexed Bedford which located about 8 miles south east alongriverbank on current day State Route 422 (Carnegie Rd). The move caused heavy flooding in both townships; however water did not enter into their homes so these two villages remain mostly separate today with only occasional contact between them essential for commerce or travel purposes! On February 14th 1861 Union General Abraham Lincoln moved his headquarters from Springfield IL to Cincinnati OH giving strongSVILLE notice that he would be visiting this area soon! A week later General Robert E Lee attacked one mile west of strongSVILLE while General Ulysses S Grant led an army against Battle Creek just north of Dayton OH resulting in over 50 dead including General Robert E Lee himself!!! Just prior to this battle northeast corner OF STRONGSBURY PARK used FOR GUN SHOOTS went quiet following rumors some people had obtained permits!! This particular corner has been mostly residential since then !!
