There has been a military presence in Streetsboro since the Revolutionary War. The first arrival of American troops was in 1795 when General George Washington's Continental Army landed on the Ohio River to help quell a rebellion against British rule. The town was named for Colonel Johnstown, an early settler, and it became home to the first European-American school in Ohio in 1802. In 1812, Streetsboro attained its current form as a village after being part of Scioto Township. The village had two stores and 10 residents when it was organized. After becoming a town, Streetsboro developed into one of the most thriving communities in central Ohio during the late 19th century. It experienced rapid growth due to its strategic location - just south of Toledo and east of Cleveland - as well as its reputation for producing high-quality goods. During this time, Streetboro produced many famous politicians and businessmen, including George Voinovich (1924-2006), Milton Hersh (1967-2018), and James Condon (1914-2015).
Streetboro is a city in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,672 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Butler County. The first European settlers in what is now Streetboro were Germans who arrived in 1795 and built a log cabin on the current site of town. The Log Cabin Company was founded by John Bachmeier and his family. They laid out a plat for what is now Streetboro on March 10, 1800. In 1811, German Baptists called Grubenville erected their own log church on the same spot as present-day Day Hall Elementary School and Presentation Baptist Church. A post office was established at Streetboro in 1815, and remained in operation until its closure in 1906. In 1839, General Harrison Polk surveyed land comprising modern day Butler Township to build a road connecting Cincinnati with Pittsburgh through Dayton and Chillicothe (now Vandalia). Streetsboro was incorporated as a town on December 8, 1841. The first postmaster general of Ohio was James Hennepin; Streetsboro had one newspaper which published from 1847 to 1861 under the title "The Evening Sun". On November 3rd 1860 during the American Civil War Streetsboro residents rose up against Confederate forces occupying their town before they could be suppressed by Union troops led by Colonel John Gibbon Howe III.. The Battle of Streetsboro took place just outside of town when Confederate forces attempted to burn down houses inside the limits of what would become downtown Streetboro while withdrawing from battle following an unsuccessful charge into Union lines

Streetsboro is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 7,816 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cuyahoga County. The first Europeans to visit Streetsboro were two French traders, Pierre Dorion and Jean Baptiste Charette, on their way to trade with the Shawnee tribe in 1795. When they reached the area now known as Streetsboro on July 1, 1795, they named it "Village du Lac". On July 4 of that year, they founded a settlement called "Moundville" on what is now Spring Hill Road and Putnam Avenue. In 1807, John Crampton sold 640 acres (2 km²) of land at Valley View for $1/acre (0.50 sq mi). This land became the nucleus around which Streetsboro developed over time. By 1830 about 450 people lived in Streetsboro; by 1840 it had grown to 1,000 residents. On November 3rd of that year - one day after Ohio attained its independence from Great Britain - General Andrew Jackson announced his candidacy for president on the platform of making America "the great country it should be." On December 12th he won an overwhelming victory against James K. Polk in the presidential election and took office as the 25th Ulysses S. Grant presidency began on January 20th 1845.. In less than three years as president he accomplished many important tasks such as leading America through World War II and creating new laws throughout America including The Sherman Antitrust Act which led to economic growth in Cleveland
Streetsboro was incorporated as a village in 1865, and became a city in 1881. The city was renamed Streetsboro, Ohio in 1907. In 1951, the city became part of the larger Dayton metropolitan area.
