Streetsboro is a small town in Stark County, Ohio, located about 25 miles north of Cleveland. The population was 3,000 as of the 2010 census. Streetsboro has been known for its coffee since at least 1884. The first coffee beans were brought to Streetsboro by John Haggerty from Wilmington, Delaware in 1884. He and his son-in-law Harry Crouse started a small grocery store near the intersection of Main and State streets in downtown Streetsboro. They sold coffeebeans direct to consumers from their grocery store until 1924 when they moved to 116 Vine Street in what is now the Stroudsberry Center shopping mall. In 1927, they opened their own roastery/grounds where they roasted their own beans and continued to sell direct to consumers until 1979 when they partnered with Roasters World Incorporated (RWI) which became their primary roaster and marketing partner. RWI maintains ownership of the roastery today with three production lines: green beans (thousands of pounds per month), dark roast (a blend of medium-dark and light roast), and Italian blends (various types including Ethiopian, Guatemalan, Nicaraguan). Since its inception on 116 Vine Street in 1927, RWI has been responsible for more than 20% of all total volume sales for Streetsboro Coffee Company. The company's history also includes multiple incarnations including The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Co., Ltd., then called defendant Coffee Merchants Association; United States Coffee Corporation; Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp.; National Coffee Associates; finally dated back to 1936 as American grinders Company before becoming Streetsboro Coffee Company again in 1984 through an affiliation with Keurig Green Mountain Brewing Corporation (now Nestle Waters Worldwide plc). Today Streetsboro Coffee Company continues operations as one of Keurig's four main brands worldwide with over 250 retail locations across North America under that banner alone.

The first coffeehouses in Streetsboro were opened by Capt. James Brown and his brother-in-law, Mr. David Wilkinson in 1794. The first coffee was ground from beans that had been roasted on site. By 1808, the Brown brothers had closed their business and moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where they continued to roast coffee. In 1812, John Aiken founded the Aiken Coffee House in downtown Cincinnati with a small shop near the Public Library. In 1815, Captain John Snyders opened the Snyders Coffee House at 2nd and Vine Streets which became one of the most popular tourist spots in town. In 1830, Elijah Colefounded the Cole Coffee House at 5th and Masonic streets which later became known as "The Streetcar Café".
