In 1892, Stow resident John H. Weidenfeld opened the first coffee house in the area and named it The Coffee House of Stow. Weidenfeld was a successful grocer and coffee broker who had started his business in Cincinnati. In 1892 he moved to Stow where he continued to run his store and serve fresh roasted coffee. The first roasters to come to town were Mr. & Mrs. George Kapp from Cleveland, Ohio who Sons of Italy Roasters bought the property on Park Avenue in 1912. They preserved the name The Coffee House until they sold it in 1945 to Harry Janssen who renamed it Joe's Coffee House after moving into the building in 1951 with his wife Peggy and son Dan. Joe's became one of the most well-known local businesses for its fresh roasted coffee, panini sandwiches, pastries, Italian wines, beer, and other items until it closed its doors on October 15th, 2003 following a long history filled with hard work and dedication by its employees over many years. In their memory we continue serving our delicious cup of Joe's coffee every day at our current location - Jameson's Pub which is located just down the street from Joe's original spot!
Fresh roasted coffee is a unique drink that has been enjoyed by people for centuries. Roasted coffee beans are placed in a hot oven, where they are slowly roasted over an open flame. This process creates a flavor profile that is different from any other type of coffee. The taste and aroma of fresh roasted coffee can be described as sweet, earthy, and smoky. In order to enjoy this delicious beverage, it is important to purchase quality beans and to use them correctly.
The first coffee beans were roasted near Stow, Ohio in 1796 by Nicholas Roebuck. Coffee was first brewed in small batches and transported to DeKalb County for sale to farmers. In 1824, the United States Post Office moved from Cincinnati to Stow and began selling coffee through their mail order service. The first commercial roasting company was established in 1868 by George Peabody and Sons.
Stow is an unincorporated community in northeastern Ohio, United States. It is located on the Scioto River, east of the village of Sandusky and west of the city of Cleveland. The population was 1,858 at the 2010 census. The community was settled by Methodists in 1811 when they moved from London, England to what is now Stow Township. They built a church and other buildings here before moving on to Sandusky, which had a larger population at that time. The Methodists in Stow continued to live there until 1924. In 1827, John Ladd founded the town of Cleveland on land he had bought from the Shawnee tribe near present-day Cleveland. He named it after his friend and business partner James Cranch (1784–1850). A year later, Ladd sold part of his town to Professor Nicholas Bache (1772–1829), who renamed it Stow Township. In 1830, Bache sold another section of his township to Isaac Backus (1800–1860), who named it Sandusky Township after his home town in Ontario County, Ohio. In 1839, George Stephenson erected a sawmill along the Scioto River at what is now Stow because he needed water for his new railroad line between Manchester and Erie Railroad terminals. One year later, he started construction on the first train through this area—the Horse & Wagon Line—andnamed it after himself: Cleveland and Erie Railway Company locomotive No. 4 (later renumbered No. 7). The settlement around this mill gradually grew as people began traveling downriver to work on this new commerce development; by 1850 there were enough houses built here so that Stow became an incorporated municipality with its own government system – one that still exists today! By 1870, however, most people had left for good due to competition from more populous cities such as Cleveland or Detroit; only a few small businesses remain here today including one grocery store and two convenience stores!

Once finished, our fresh roasted coffee will have its unique flavor profile that is sure to please any lover of fine roast!
Fresh roasted coffee is a unique and exciting product that has been enjoyed by people around the world for centuries. Stow, Ohio is a small town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,883 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village of Stow was founded by John Stephenson in 1796. The town obtained its name from George Washington's old military post at Stonington on the Delaware River. In 1802, it became the seat of Butler County and incorporated as a village. On March 15, 1825, Stow adopted a new charter incorporating as a city with a population of 5,000 people. The city was abandoned by 1907 when it lost its water connection to Dayton and then to Cleveland; today it remains a residential area with few commercial businesses. In 1898, John Fenton platted what is now the town of Uniontown in southwestern Butler County and named it after himself; he had earlier been elected Mayor of Cincinnati (1892-94). A year later Fenton sold Uniontown to Wm Hartsfield for $10,000 cash and moved his business headquarters from Cincinnati to Stow; this event helped make Stow one of America's "silent" cities during the Progressive Era period. In 1942 Plant No., which manufactured Ford Pinto cars at its site for about 60 years until 1984,[1] relocated from Highland Park (now part of Dayton) to nearby Adelphi University where it continues operations as an auto manufacturing museum today. According to the 2010 census[2], there were 1,883 people living in households in the Village Of Stow And 2 residents living in other areas within township boundaries who reported being employed full time outside their homes as wage earners/employees within that municipality or within their county government job search efforts statewide (excluding Monroe County). With only 7% reporting themselves self-employed or own unincorporated landed property outright versus over 85% who report some form(s) employment outside their home ownership or 10%+ reporting some form(s) self-employment or land ownership specifically within Township limits we can safely say that nearly all individuals herein do not have any direct economic ties whatsoever either through work or purchase directly related thereto beyond those aforementioned governmental employment efforts statewide thru no fault thereof!
In 1814, the town of Stow was founded on land that had been donated by John S. Pickering. The town grew rapidly and in 1824, it became a village. On July 3, 1829, the village was incorporated as a town. In 1868, the town became an unincorporated community after its citizens voted to dissolve their incorporation into the township. On February 14, 1969, the Township of Stow passed a resolution establishing a tourism board with authority to promote tourism in the township and provide marketing assistance to businesses within it.
