The United States Air Force has a rich history in Sidney, Ohio. The USAF Academy is located in the town and it was here that General George C. Marshall founded theAAF in 1940. From this base, the USAF flew bombing raids over Germany during World War II. Today, the USAF operates more than 100 bases across the country and its reach extends to many corners of the world. He eventually became Commanding Officer (CO) Air Traffic Services Unit 1 at CVW-8th Avn Wing which relocated from Langley AFB VA in 1966 after being forced out of Wright-Patterson AFB due to budgetary constraints following the discovery of Sputnik 1 by Russia! In his time at CVW-8th Avn Wing he made great strides forward developing air traffic control technology for both Allied aircraft flying over Europe during World War II and jet bombers operating over North Korea during that war! His accomplishments include designatingucer ATC airspace for use by all Allied fighters based therein while also leading development work on Operation Northern Lightning – an aerial bombarding campaign against North Korea which began on October 15, 1951! In addition he was later responsible for establishing worldwide air traffic control procedures following 9/11! Today Lewis Treadway remains an important figure within Dayton’s aerospace community with numerous awards bestowed upon him including two Distinguished Flying Crosses!

Sidney, Ohio is a town in the US state of Ohio. The population was 11,719 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati–Northern Kentucky– Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1836 by Sidney and his brother-in-law, David Siegel. They named it after Sidney's older sister, Sophia (Sidney) Biddle. When Sidney's wife died in 1849, he moved to Cleveland with their two children and became an seaman on a successful trading vessel called the John Dickson. He returned to Sidney in 1851 and began to build a gristmill there that would become one of the largest in the area. In 1870, he married Emma Harker and they started farming on land they had bought from James Nicholson near what is now downtown Sidney. They raised chickens until 1903 when they switched to beef cattle production which continues until present day In 1907, Sidney voted to become an incorporated city and its first mayor was Jno Wickersham (1896-1968). Wickersham unsuccessfully ran for reelection in 1916 but served as mayor continuously until his death in 1968. The current Mayor of Sidney is Donny Epps
