The Richmond Heights National Guard was formed in 1916 as a result of the American Civil War. The Guards were originally stationed in Cleveland, but by 1919 they had relocated to Richmond Heights. The Guard played an important role during World War II, serving in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war, the Guards played a significant role inIANZAC and the Cold War. In recent years, the Guards have been mothballed and are not currently engaged in active duty. However, they continue to play a ceremonial role within Richmond Heights society. The Guards first arrived in Richmond Heights with little idea of what they were getting themselves into. At that time, Ohio was part of Confederate States of America and there was no commonwealth between Union and Confederate forces. As a result, many people who enlisted with the Guard felt like they were joining an iilitary organization instead of simply their community’s support system for war efforts. This lack of understanding likely led to some tension within the Guard when it came to issues such as racism or discrimination against black soldiers. Nonetheless, these tensions eventually dissipated over time as members began to learn more about one another and their responsibilities within society. One key aspect which contributed to the Guards’ success during World War II was their ability to quickly mobilize large numbers of volunteers from throughout Ohio Valley region for short-term military service on short notice. This practice known as “rolling call” helped keep troops organized and discipline while on deployment; something which would be difficult if done through normal channels such as letter writing or even attending battalion meetings at home basecamp! Even after V-E Day ( Victory Over Japan), many members of the Guard continued volunteering for extended periods until finally being called back home due to other duties or injuries sustained overseas! It is this spirit of community service which has made the Guard one of Columbus OH’s most popular organizations today – Generations have placed their trust in them to protect our city from harm!

After the war, the battalion became part of the 2nd Brigade, 5th Cavalry Division and fought in World War II as part of the European Theater. The battalion was disbanded in 1945 but reformed as a regiment on September 15, 1951. It served until it was disbanded on May 1, 1957.
Richmond Heights is located in Warren County, Ohio. The population was 5,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton metropolitan area. The village was platted in 1868 by Samuel S. Richmond and others as a dependency of Akron. Richmond Heights became its own municipality in 1875. It joined the United States as a state town on July 1, 1907. It became an independent city on January 1, 1970. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 7,711 people. The racial makeup of Richmond Heights was 97% white and 3% black or African American. There are also two Italian Americans living there who identify as "Italian." The Village has six schools: one public school and five private schools which serve students from prekindergarten through eighth grade (grades 9-12). There are also three churches that offer services to the community: First Methodist Church with 1,500 members; Second Baptist Church with 350 members; and St John's Lutheran Church with 125 members). A post office serving Richmond Heights opened on October 15, 1886, and ceased operations on December 31st 1975 due to consolidation within Akron postal service into ZIP Codes 43101-43113 (Akron/Canton)

The National Guard is a national military reserve that provides law enforcement and other support to state and local governments. The Reserve component of the National Guard includes both active duty and inactive duty members, as well as their families. The Reserve Component was organized on July 1, 1792 when the first unit was raised in New York City. In 1934, the National Guard Act (Public Law 97-344) authorizes the President of the United States to establish an inactive militia forces for two years for any nation which desires it. This provision expired on September 30, 2006. Inactive Militia Forces are authorized to consist of up to 3,500 men and women who have not been called into service in time for an emergency declared by Congress or by order of the President since 1870. These forces are not subject to federal laws or regulations but are under direct command of their respective commanders in chief. They may be used for any purpose deemed necessary by those commanders without prior authorization from Congress
Richmond Heights, Ohio is a small town located in the southern portion of the state of Ohio. The population was 4,811 at the 2010 census. This small town is named after Richmond, Virginia which was founded by refugees from the Revolutionary War. The first settlers in this area were families who had fled from Kentucky and West Virginia. In 1814, General Daniel Boone and his family settled in what is now Richmond Heights. They built a log cabin and started a farm that became one of the most successful in the region. Over time, other families also moved to this area and built businesses such as lumberjacks and farmers. In 1927, Richmond Heights incorporated as a village. It has since grown into an important community with a rich history that can be enjoyed by all who live here.
