Richmond Heights is a small town in the western part of Ohio, about 15 miles west of Cincinnati. As of the 2010 census, its population was 5,449. The town was founded by Germans in 1810. It became an American town on December 12, 1825 when it was chartered as a township by George Washington. In 1870, it became a city and remains so today. The first coffee beans were roasted in Richmond Heights in 1876 by John Brown and Sons. The company continued to roast coffee until 1984. In 1886, JB&S began marketing their coffee through their own store on Main Street (now known as First Avenue). At that time, they offered ground coffee and capsules for purchase or subscription. The store also sold books about coffee and brewing processes. By 1912-13, the store had grown to include an oven and forge used to roast beans on site as well as a variety of other items related to coffee production such as cups, saucers, mugs etcetera In 1916-17 JB&S moved their bean roasting operation from downtown Cincinnati to what is now called the “Fruit Machine” building at 5th & Vine Streets in Richmond Heights which still stands today with active business operations taking place there since then including brewpubs run by breweries throughout central Ohio! This facility produced some of the most highly rated high quality Italian styled coffees available anywhere! In 1957 they built another plant located at 6th & Vine Streets which again produced some truly world class Italian style coffees! An interesting footnote to this story is that one half century after moving their manufacturing operations out of downtown Cincinnati completely these days we can find them back once again at 6th & Vine streets right near where they operated their first fruit machine! There are several different restaurants/bars inside this building alluding back to this old stomping grounds where one could enjoy great cup of Joe while soaking up all that historical culture!

Richmond Heights is a census-designated place in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village was founded in 1836 by an American Civil War veteran and his wife who moved from Delaware to become the first white residents of what is now Richmond Heights. They named their new town after General Robert E. Lee, who had died shortly before they arrived in western Ohio. The area became a major stop on the Underground Railroad during the antebellum period as many fugitive slaves used it as a safe haven from Virginia's slave state justice system. After Union troops destroyed Richmond Heights' courthouse in 1847, its citizens decided to rename their community for General Ulysses S. Grant rather than Lee because he had been more supportive of the Union side during the war and because Grant's military career ended later that year. The population growth Rate throughout most of this time stayed relatively low; however there were some large spikes due to World War II (1939-1945) or natural disasters (a tornado strike in 1951). In 1990 Richmond Heights formed a township with other rural townships within Stark County and has since seen continued population growth although still modestly compared to surrounding communities such as Akron and Canton which have seen much larger increases over time.
