Richmond Heights is a small town in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded by Methodists in 1836 and has been home to many businesses over the years, including a grocery store, an insurance agency and a printing press. In 1907, J.B. Holmes opened his first coffee shop in what is now Richmond Heights Elementary School. The business quickly became successful and continued to grow until it merged with another company in 1961 to form International Coffee Company. International Coffee Company (ICC) was one of the most influential coffee companies of its time and enjoyed a strong reputation for their high-quality products and delicious cup of Java. ICC also left an indelible mark on Richmond Heights through their donations to various local charities and programs. Their legacy continues to this day, as ICC remains one of the largest donors to Richmond Heights Schools ever!

The Richmond Heights coffee shop opened in the late 1800s. It was first called the Third Street Bakery and then the Green Gables Coffee Shop before becoming the Rheingold Coffee Shop in 1971. The shop closed in 1987, but reopened as a coffee house in 2007.
Richmond Heights is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located in the northeastern part of the state. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati–Muncie–Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was laid out by General James Robertson in 1792 as part of a survey he made to settle land grants in what is now northeastern Ohio. He named it for his old home and plantation near Richmond County, Virginia (now West Virginia). The first white settlers arrived in 1796, when John Pemberton and his family settled on land grant H-2-5 from Nicholas Wright. They erected a cabin and started farming; however,John Pemberton died young without children to take up the farm and continue the family name. In 1812, General Richard Taylor founded Richmond Township which became Richmond Heights after he moved there from Delaware Township where he had been living since 1800. In 1814, Amasa Holmes moved to Richmond Heights from Scioto Township and founded an Academy there which still exists today as Holmes Academy Schools Incorporated serving grades K-12th grade students who are residents or visitors of Richmond Heights, Cincinnati/Muncie/Winchester Metro areas only

The Dutch drank a lot of coffee, so they needed a way to make it without any sugar. In 1648, Jan Pieterszoon Tersteeg started trading coffee with the Dutch East India Company (VOC). He became the first person to bring coffee to Holland. In 1795, Gottlieb Spurner founded what is now known as Starbucks Coffee Corporation in Seattle, Washington. It was the first company to open up a retail store selling pre-packaged whole bean coffees made fresh every day at its stores across the United States and Canada. Starbucks began manufacturing its own espresso machines in 1984

Richmond Heights was a small town in the Ohio Valley region of the United States that was known for its coal fields and manufacturing plants. The town was founded in 1881 by brothers John and James Richmond, who owned a small foundry and coal mine. The town grew rapidly after it became an incorporated municipality in 1903. It annexed other adjacent towns in 1923, making it the largest municipality in the area. In 1975, Richmond Heights merged with neighboring Bedford to become one of the five municipalities comprising Bedford Township. In 2001, Richmond Heights merged with nearby Willoughby to form another of the five municipalities composing Willoughby Township. Richmond Heights is located at (41.924212, -87.569306). Its estimated population as of 2015 was 14,994. The borough has a total area of , including . According to the 2000 census, there were 10,644 people living in Richmond Heights proper and 11 constituent villages: Bedford (8), Cedar (1), Eden (1), Fordon (2), Griggsville (1), Huntington Beach (3), Lincolnwood (4) and Manchesterfield/Walshstown/Harrisonburg/Fletcherstown/Newburghtownships-6 collectively totaling 18 square miles or 46 square kilometers (.984 sq mi / .998 km²). In 2003, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released during announcement of mayoral candidates for that year's Ohio gubernatorial election campaign, 11% of residentslivinginRichmondHeightswere foreign-born; this number increased somewhat over subsequent years but remains below 1% statewide average when broken out by race or ethnicity as reported by U.S., state & national governments

The town quickly became a center of commerce and culture, with its own schools and churches. In the 19th century, Richmond Heights experienced an increase in population and development, becoming one of Cleveland's most prosperous neighborhoods. In the 1930s, Richmond Heights experienced a significant Neighborhood Watch Program spearheaded by Mayor John Fisk. The program helped to prevent crime in the neighborhood and has been credited with reducing violence in the area over time.
