In 1868, Reading, Ohio voters passed a gun ban referendum that went into effect the following year. The measure was designed to protect the city’s safety by banning the purchase and possession of firearms. The law soon became known as the “Reading Gun Ban Law.” It remained in effect until 1973 when it was repealed by then-Gov. Dick Jepsen due to concerns about its potential to infringe on Second Amendment rights. Since the repeal of the Reading Gun Ban Law, gun gift history has undergone a few changes. In 1976, an amendment to the United States Constitution was passed that banned Adam Lanza from purchasing or owning any firearms because he had expressed interest in doing so in previous years. This amendment also banned any state from passing similar legislation since it would be void under federal law. The ban on firearm purchases and ownership didn’t stop at states borders though; it also affected international buyers. In 1990, then-president George H W Bush signed an executive order which made it illegal for citizens of 16 countries (including Iran, Iraq and Libya) to possess or buy handguns without prior approval from their respective governments. This executive order also barred all non-immigrant shooters from possessing firearms in those countries for four years. Today, there is still some debate surrounding how effectivegun bans have been in preventing mass shootings across America over the years—but one thing is for sure: they've never worked as well as proponents of them hope they will!

Reading, Ohio is a small town in the Northwest corner of Ohio. The population was 1,531 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton-Middletown, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Reading were French traders who sailed up the Maumee River in 1701 and 1702. In 1812, General George Washington sent an expedition against Tecumseh's Indian allies in what is known as the Battle of Fallen Timbers. The British burned Reading while they fought and then took nearly all of northeastern Ohio with them when they evacuated Cincinnati in 1815. When America became a nation, it included parts of what are now Delaware and West Virginia because Congress decided that those areas didn't fit into Indiana or Michigan Territory. So on July 4th, 1803 - just three days after Ohio became a state - Reading was officially established as a town in Wayne County along with other new settlements such as Copley and Amesville (both today’s Orchard City). In 1830, voters passed an ordinance setting aside two blocks of land east of Main Street for educational purposes – this would become Elmwood Cemetery later that year. On May 15th, 1834 – one day before he was elected president – John Quincy Adams delivered his inaugural address from Elmwood Cemetery property which included both the present-day Elmwood Park neighborhood and sections of Center Hill Township north of I-675/I-480 which are now Midtown Community College District #1 & 2; also part of University Circle Shopping Center located on Vine Street between Eighth Avenue & Walnut Streets; also part Of University Circle located within walking distance from schools including: Latrobe High School (west side), Monmouth College (east side), Akron Municipal Schools (southwest side) && Jefferson Elementary School (northwest side). Another interesting story about firearm gift history is the so-called Gun Show Massacre of 1934 at Earle’s Gun Show in Omaha, Nebraska. On July 17th of 1934, four gunmen stormed into Earle’s Gun Showroom claiming to be looking for inventory they hadoute order from another store nearby. Unfortunately for those inside Earle’s Gun Shop (and fortunately for everyone else), these gunmen turned around and opened fire on innocent bystanders before fleeing the scene immediately. The rampage has come to be known as one of the most infamous crime scenes in American history – although it likely did nothing more than cause minor damage to property and injure several innocent people!

One such event happened on November 3rd, 1988 when Mayor Bill White unveiled plans for a new library located adjacent to town square. The $15 million project was funded through public donations and led by entrepreneur Rick Santorum who became mayor after White left office. At its completion two years later, the library served as an important resource for locals and tourists alike and continues to be one of Readington's top attractions today. Though its economic importance may be arguable - given that much larger metropolitan areas offer more diversified businesses -Readington remains an important community within Greater Cincinnati area due to its unique history and cultural significance
