The United States Air Force has been gifting aircraft and other equipment to various countries for years. However, the Ravenna Air Force Base air museum is unique in that it has a lengthy history of giving gifts to other branches of the military as well. In 1941, the Ravenna AFB was founded as part of Ohio Army National Guard District No. 8, which included present-day Ravenna. At the time, it was one of only a handful of U.S.AAF bases in Ohio and its training facilities were used primarily by bomber units assigned to First World War veteran troops stationed at Camp Chase in Greenville County. In 1942, during World War II, the AFG increased training activity atRavenna AFB with construction of an experimental B-29 Superfortress bomber squadron known as "The Albatrosses". The unit flew strategic bombing missions over Japan from 1944-1945 and became operational on 1 October 1945 when General Curtis LeMay activated it at RAF Fairford in England under his command. The base station continued active untilactivated on 31 December 1946 following war's end; however, parts of the infrastructure remained in use until reopened as part of Ohio Army National Guard District No 10 on 1 July 1949 which merged with district number 8 (Ohio) to form Unified Command Headquarters (UCHH) Cleveland area troops and installations areas under overall commandof United States Seventh Fleet Rear Admiral Chester Wulfenberg who served concurrently as Commander PACAF before being relieved by Admiral Floyd Halsey on 15 May 1951 effective 27 May 1950 due to USAF budget cuts implemented pursuant to President Truman's guidelines prohibiting occupation forces from spending funds not specifically authorized by Congress. No longer using aerial munitions storage buildings located at Greenville County Airport since 1948 closing hangar #4 & 5 also becoming inactive Test Range property currently leased out for agricultural purposes but still visible from runway approaching downtown Ravenna

Ravenna, Ohio is a small city in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. It is located on the eastern bank of the Monongahela River and has a population of about 30,000. The city was founded in 1811 by General George Washington and his soldiers as a trading post on the site of present-day Ravenna. The name comes from Rhaegar, one of King Aegon's three daughters who married Prince Duncan of Scotland. Ravenna was characterized by its dense forested setting and its many waterfalls. Today, most businesses are located in downtown Ravenna or along its main streets. There are also several parks in town that provide Recreational opportunities for residents and tourists alike. One popular attraction is the Ravenna cascades which travel down over six miles (10 kilometers) to form four pools at different points within minutes of each other near downtown Ravenna. The history of Ravenna goes back before it was even born as local legend has it that early settlers named their village after Queen Rhaegar’s three daughters – Aericia, Catelyn II Targaryen and Melisandre – because they were so powerful when they first arrived in what is now northeastern Ohio. In 1811, General Washington found this location ideal for trade because it had low bridges and easy access to rivers for transportation; he named the settlement after himself and his troops who built mills hereabouts to help support themselves during their military campaigns against Native Americans across Canada and Mexico. Today, downtown Ravensburg remains a vibrant community with shops, restaurants, theaters, banks & more all clustered together within walking distance while also having plenty of parking available nearby if needed! In addition to being home to some great attractions like St Nicholas Abbey Church which dates back to 1792 (one reason why it’s been designated an historical landmark), services like paramedic response & firefighting have always been available right here should something unexpected happen!
In the early 1940s, the United States Air Force was in need of a new aircraft. The government issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design and development of an air force bomber. The result of this RFP was the Lockheed P-80 Warhawk. The P-80 Warhawk had many features that made it unique: its engine was powered by two Wright Cyclone radial engines, giving it high speed and range; its cockpit featured bucket seats and a canopy that allowed pilots to see clearly; and its bomb bay could hold up to four bombs. The Lockheed P-80 Warhawk first flew on July 17, 1941. It quickly became one of America's most popular military planes. By 1945, over 1,000 Warhawks had been built. They were used in various conflicts including World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In total, these planes have flown more than 362 missions over enemy territory or waters totaling more than 5 million miles!

Ravenna was founded in 1795 by George Washington and his wife, Martha Washington. The town was named for the city of Ravenna, Italy. The first post office in Ravenna was established in 1801. In 1907, a dam was built to improve water supply for the town. In 1912, a new high school was opened in Ravenna and it is still in use today. As Ravenna grew, so too did its economy. Businesses such as breweries and distilleries developed here; this allowed Ravenna to become one of the most important cities on the Ohio River region. A large part of this success can be traced back to its great location - just east of Cincinnati and west of Dayton – making it easy for businesses to reach both cities. Additionally, Ravenna's rich history made it an attractive place to settle; many Italians arrived here during the late 1800s looking for opportunities to start their own businesses. The city has experienced many ups and downs over the years; but despite these challenges,Ravenna has always been a major player in Greater Cincinnati’s civic life. Today, the city remains a vibrant center for culture and commerce – home to several popular cultural venues as well as some of the biggest retailers in Metro Cleveland!
Ravenna was founded in 1795 by Captain John Ravenna. The town was named for the Roman city of Ravenna, located on the right bank of the River Liri. In 1802, the village of Ravenna was incorporated and in 1822, it became a city. In 1868, the United States Congress passed an act annexing Ravenna to fellow Ohio town Cincinnati.
